The Belgian professional football club – Club Brugge (Belgium) – has announced that after more than 20 years it has obtained a final and enforceable permit for the construction of its new stadium.

‘clubbrugge.be’ stated that construction is expected to begin later this year and they hope to kick off the 2028–2029 seasons in the new stadium.

The Club Brugge is a Belgian professional football club based in Bruges, Belgium. It was founded in 1891 and its home ground is the Jan Breydel Stadium which has a capacity of 29,062. They play in the Belgian Pro League, the top domestic league in Belgian football.

The 29,062-seat Jan Breydel Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Sint-Andries, Bruges, Belgium. It serves as the home venue of the Club Brugge.

‘clubbrugge.be’ further stated that until then the matches will continue to be played at the Jan Breydel Stadium in Sint-Andries, Bruges, Belgium.

Finally. Let’s get to work.”
 

Environmental Permit

The Club Brugge is planning to build a new 40,000-seat stadium on the site of their current ⁠Jan Breydel Stadium in the Sint-Andries district. After securing their definitive environmental permit the club aims to begin construction and have the venue ready for the 2028-2029 seasons.
