Etihad Arena Abu Dhabi events are back Image: Etihad Arena

Events are back with a splash, literally, at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi (UAE). The FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) will be making its Yas Island debut and the swimming spectacle will be held at the Etihad Arena from December 16th-21st, 2021.

‘Etihad Arena’ stated that the world’s most talented short-course swimmers will bring top-quality competitive sporting action to the heart of Abu Dhabi.

The Etihad Arena (initially known as Yas Bay Arena while under construction) is an indoor arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, located on the Yas Bay Waterfront district of Yas Island. Designed by HOK, the capacity of the venue is 18,000 and it is operated by Flash Entertainment. The Arena opened its doors in January 2021.

FINA is the international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competitions in water sports. It is one of several international federations which administer a given sport or discipline for the IOC and the international community. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

‘Etihad Arena’ further stated that the tournament will be made up of 44 events, featuring men’s and women’s races in all four strokes – freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly – along with the individual medley and relays and will be supported by fantastic entertainment and an array of family-friendly activities, along with cultural learning experiences and delicious food and beverage outlets to guarantee a breathtaking experience for all.

Not very long back, the Etihad Arena brought a smile on everybody’s faces when it announced that the United Kingdom’s leading comedian Michael McIntyre will perform his Greatest Hits Show at Etihad Arena on July 16th, 2021. The show promises to be a rib-tickler and is bound to leave the audience in splits. It will also act as a balm for the people what with everybody having frayed nerves due to the COVID-19 situation globally.

Michael McIntyre is an English comedian, writer and television presenter. In 2012, he was the highest-grossing stand-up comedian in the world.
