Eintracht ecstatic over landing UEFA show

Good news for Frankfurt (Germany): The Main Metropolis and the Deutsche Bank Park have been awarded the contract to host the final of the 2027 UEFA Europa League.

‘profis.eintracht.de’ stated that the one-two between Frankfurt and the Europa League has always worked well, and the magical environment which the duo produces works well into the competition.

The 58,000-capacity Waldstadion, currently known as the Deutsche Bank Park for sponsorship purposes, is a retractable roof sports stadium in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. The home stadium of the football club Eintracht Frankfurt, it opened in 1925.

Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. is a German professional sports club based in Frankfurt, Hesse (Germany). It is best known for its football club, which was founded on March 8^th, 1899. The club currently plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system.

The UEFA Europa League is an annual football club competition organized since 1971 by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for the eligible European football clubs. It is the second-tier competition of European club football, ranking below the UEFA Champions League and above the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Nyon (Switzerland)-based the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is one of six continental bodies of governance in association football. It governs football, futsal and beach football in Europe and the transcontinental countries of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, as well as the West Asian countries of Cyprus, Armenia and Israel. The UEFA consists of 55 national association members. Since 2022, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the FIFA and UEFA suspended all Russian national teams and clubs from any FIFA and UEFA competitions.

Now, a UEFA showpiece event will be held in the Deutsche Bank Park – in the heart of Europe. Frankfurt came up trumps in the selection process with stiff competition from Bucharest (Romania) and Glasgow (Scotland, UK). The final of the 2026 Europa League will take place in Istanbul (Turkey).

Huge spectacle

A carnival-like atmosphere will prevail in the Rhine-Main region in Frankfurt and beyond in early Summer 2027 with visitors from all over the world flocking to the region. This will also lead to economic benefits.

‘profis.eintracht.de’ further stated that a latest study on the National Football League (NFL) Games held in Frankfurt in 2023 revealed that the event gave a boost to the City’s image and also helped reap economic rewards for the entire region.

New York (US)-based the National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league that consists of 32 teams, divided equally between the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference.

Frankfurt will once again be on the top of the heap in media ratings come 2027. For example, more than 30 million viewers worldwide watched Eintracht’s final against the Scottish Premiership team (the top division of Scottish football) Rangers F.C. from Glasgow, Scotland (UK) in Seville (Spain) in May 2022 live on television, in addition to numerous pre- and post-match reports on TV as well as in print and online media.

Football will once again bring people together and fingers crossed Eintracht will come out with flying colors.”

The German Football Association (DFB) is the governing body of football, futsal and beach soccer in Germany.

Maiden event

Frankfurt will be hosting for the first time a Europa League final game. In 2027, the first men’s final in 47 years will be played in the heart of Europe at the Deutsche Bank Park.
