The Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich has filed an application before the City of Munich (Germany) to build a new performance center on the club’s premises on Säbener Straße (a street in Germany that is home to the headquarters of FC Bayern Munich).

‘FC Bayern Munich’ stated that the top-flight have also requested the City of Munich authorities to examine the key points written in the application which justifies the need to build a new performance center.

The FC Bayern Munich, Bayern Munich, or simply Bayern, is a German professional sports club based in Munich, Bavaria (Germany). It is best known for its professional men’s association football team, which plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system.

The Allianz Arena is a football stadium in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, with a 70,000-seating capacity for the international matches and 75,000 for the domestic matches. Widely known for its exterior of inflated ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) plastic panels, it is the first stadium in the world with a full color changing exterior. It serves as the residence of the FC Bayern Munich.

The Säbener Straße is the training ground for the FC Bayern Munich, including all of their teams, from the Bundesliga seniors to the Under-8s. The site has five grass pitches, two of which have undersoil heating and offers excellent training and playing conditions. The Allianz Arena is also located at Säbener Straße.

Averred Jan-Christian Dreesen, head honcho of FC Bayern, “The Säbener Straße has been the home of the FC Bayern for 75 years -and we want to stay here for the long term. However, it is necessary that we continue to develop the sporting infrastructure for our licensed players in order to continue to meet the highest national and international standards in the future. A new performance center is therefore a central component so that the FC Bayern can continue to impress the international players with their pitch prowess and remain competitive at the top of the heap. We have kept in the loop the neighborhood and the political leaders and have involved them in the various planning stages in context with the performance center.”

‘FC Bayern Munich’ further stated that a survey carried out by the club revealed that the conditions were conducive at the Säbener Straße to lodge a new performance center with sustainable infrastructure. The FC Bayern has been training at Säbener Straße since 1949. An office was built in 1970 and since then the area has been buzzing with activities. Extensive renovation work took place in 1979, in the late ’80s and in 2008.
