The City of Goodyear in Arizona (US) recently announced a partnership with Perfect Game, the world’s largest amateur youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, to use the Goodyear Ballpark facilities as a hub for tournaments and other baseball activities in the Phoenix Metro area.

‘City of Goodyear’ quoted the City of Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo as stating, “This is a win-win for all involved and the City of Goodyear is excited to be entering into this partnership with Perfect Game. We are pleased to know that the outstanding facilities at our Goodyear Ballpark are being utilized to discover and develop rising athletic talent.”

Goodyear is a City in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. It is a suburb of Phoenix. Goodyear, Arizona has a diverse blend of amenities with abundant business, cultural, educational, and entertainment resources. Today, the City’s population is more than 101,000 and features a highly educated and skilled workforce, just minutes from the heart of Downtown Phoenix. Cedar Park, Texas (US)-based Perfect Game is the world’s largest elite youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, producing over 9,800+ events, hundreds of thousands of games and showcases each year across the country. Perfect Game is dedicated to giving amateur players exposure to take their game to the next level, whether that be in college or in the professional ranks. At Perfect Game events, players are performing with top-level competition in front of college recruiters and professional scouts from all over the country. Because of this, these events prove to be invaluable to college coaches as well as Major League Baseball (MLB), as they can scout a large population of talented ballplayers in one location. To date, more than 1,847 players that have played in a Perfect Game event have also played in Major League Baseball.

Since 2003, 13,893 Perfect Game alumni have been selected in the MLB First-Year Amateur Player Draft. In the 2022 Draft, for example, more than 90 percent of all players selected had played in Perfect Game events, and every player selected on the Draft’s first day had previously attended Perfect Game events.

New York (US)-based Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. The MLB is composed of 30 teams, divided equally between the National League and the American League, with 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada.

‘City of Goodyear’ further stated that through its (City of Goodyear) partnership with Perfect Game, and its best-in-class events and services, Goodyear will now host thousands of the top amateur baseball athletes from around the United States in tournaments throughout the year.

From our popular All- American Classic, to be played in Phoenix this August, to the events scheduled for Goodyear, the area will play an important role in helping Perfect Game make dreams come true for hundreds of young athletes.”

The All-American Classic features the top 50 high school baseball players from North America. It attracts professional and collegiate scouts from around the country and is broadcast on television and streamed live internationally.

Added Mayor Pizzillo, “This will be a tremendous driver for our local economy as Perfect Game has committed to the City of Goodyear which provides a wonderful opportunity for the City to showcase all that we have to offer those who visit our community. We look forward to welcoming thousands of Perfect Games guests when they stay in our hotels, dine at our restaurants and shop locally, experiencing all that is Goodyear.”

In total, 26 Perfect Game tournaments and events are planned to be hosted at the Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona.

As a result, thousands of players, coaches and their families from in and outside the region will come to the City of Goodyear. The schedule kicks off with the Memorial Day Classic which will feature over 90 teams and 1,000 players from around the United States.

The 42,319-capacity Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, serves as their home stadium.

Perfect Game is committed to providing youth baseball and softball players from across North America with fun and safe environments in which to pursue their onfield dreams, while acquiring important life skills that will serve them well in the future.
