The Greenville Pro Soccer (US) announced recently that Vanessa Gongora has been named the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications.

‘GREENVILLE TRIUMPH’ stated that in her role Gongora will oversee the organization’s marketing and communications efforts including the brand strategy, the marketing campaigns, digital and social media, public relations, the media relations, and the content development. Gongora’s appointment comes as the Greenville Pro Soccer prepares for the opening of its new stadium at the BridgeWay Station (business park in Mauldin, South Carolina, US) in 2026.

Greenville (US)-based the Greenville Pro Soccer (GPS) is the parent organization operating the professional and the pre-professional soccer teams in Greenville, South Carolina (US) including the professional American soccer team – the Greenville Triumph SC.

The Greenville Triumph SC is a professional soccer team based in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. The club began play in the United Soccer League (USL) League One (a professional Men’s soccer league in the United States) in 2019.

The Paladin Stadium is a 16,000-seat stadium located near Greenville, South Carolina, US. It was built in 1981 at a cost of $2 million and originally seated 13,200 fans. It was expanded to its current capacity in 1985 and is currently home to the Greenville Triumph SC. The stadium was converted to field turf before the 2013 season.

Tampa (US)-based the United Soccer League (USL) is an organizer of various professional and amateur soccer leagues in the United States league system.

The GE Vernova Park is a new 6,300-capacity, multipurpose stadium and entertainment venue under construction at BridgeWay Station in Mauldin, South Carolina (US). Opening in 2026 it will serve as the home field for the Greenville Triumph SC while also hosting concerts and community events.

‘GREENVILLE TRIUMPH’ further stated that Gongora brings more than 15 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy and media initiatives across media and entertainment including the campaigns for the Fortune 100 companies and work with the luxury brand advertisers.

Her background includes leadership roles with the nationally recognized organizations such as the Time Inc./Meredith (book and periodical publishing), Condé Nast (American mass media company) and the New York Magazine (American biweekly magazine) where she focused on the brand partnerships, the content strategy and the audience development and advised the organizations on culturally inclusive engagement strategies.

Most recently Gongora served as the Revenue and Promotions Director for the Norsan Media’s South Carolina operations, a leading Hispanic media company. There she led the promotional strategies, the bilingual marketing and the sponsorship campaigns and the efforts to expand the brand reach within the multicultural and the international communities.

In addition to her media and brand background Gongora has supported the marketing, sponsorship and the promotional initiatives for a range of national and regional brands with the notable South Carolina clients including the Swedish manufacturing corporation Volvo, the South Carolina State Fair (an annual 12-day, nonprofit event in Columbia, SC, featuring the agricultural exhibits, livestock, the carnival rides, the concerts, and the deep-fried food), Prisma Health (the largest, not-for-profit healthcare organization in South Carolina), MUSC (the Medical University of South Carolina), and the University of South Carolina.

Her work has included consulting corporate partners on sponsorship return on investment (ROI) and activation strategy as well as leading the brand partnerships for the People en Español (originally Spanish-language American magazine) and the Siempre Mujer connecting the national sponsors with the multicultural markets through entertainment- and celebrity-driven activations.
