Richard Kenyon has been named as the new Chief Executive of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and will take up his role at the cricket club’s home pitch – the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in England (UK) – in December.

‘TRENT BRIDGE’ stated that a senior sports-industry executive with over a decade of service at the Premier League team Everton Football Club in leadership roles including the Chief Commercial and Communications Officer and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Everton in the Community (official charity of the top-flight) Kenyon played an instrumental role in delivering Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock (Liverpool, England, UK) and brings a wealth of experience across both the professional sport and charitable sectors.

The Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club is one of 18 first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales (UK). It represents the historic county of Nottinghamshire. The club’s limited overs team is called the Notts Outlaws.

The 17,500-capacity Trent Bridge Cricket Ground is a cricket ground mostly used for Test, One-Day International and county cricket located in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, England (UK) just across the River Trent from the City of Nottingham. It also serves as the residence of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

The Everton Football Club is a professional association football club based in Liverpool, England (UK). The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.

The 52,769-capacity Hill Dickinson Stadium, known as the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium or the Everton Stadium during construction, is a football stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool, England (UK). It is the home ground of the Premier League club Everton F.C. replacing the 39,572-capacity Goodison Park in Liverpool.

The Bramley-Moore Dock is a historic dock in Liverpool that has been redeveloped to host the Everton F.C.’s new stadium, the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The dock site was once a busy maritime and industrial center before falling into disuse and will now serve as a major hub for sports, public spaces and commercial development regenerating the Northern docks area.

‘TRENT BRIDGE’ quoted the Nottinghamshire Chair Andy Hunt as stating, “Throughout his career Richard has demonstrated the ability to lead large, complex organizations through significant transformation while maintaining a strong focus on values, governance and performance. His leadership at Everton spanned critical areas including commercial strategy, global brand development, major infrastructure projects, and multistakeholder consultation –all directly relevant to the current and future ambitions of our club. We’re delighted that Richard has agreed to join us and look forward to welcoming him to Trent Bridge.”

Kenyon joins Nottinghamshire following the departure of Lisa Pursehouse with a pivotal period ahead for the club who won the 2025 County Championship, recently integrated a tier-one women’s professional team, are in the process of a significant redevelopment of the Trent Bridge Pavilion, and have retained a 51 percent stake in the Trent Rockets.

The Trent Rockets are a franchise 100-ball cricket side based in the City of Nottingham (UK). The team represents the historic counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire in the newly founded The Hundred competition which took place for the first time in the 2021 English and Welsh cricket season.

Commented Kenyon, “I’m really excited to be appointed the Chief Executive of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Joining the recently crowned County Champions at such an exciting time for both the club and the sport is a tremendous privilege – as is taking on responsibility for one of cricket’s most iconic venues, the Trent Bridge. It’s a great credit to the outgoing Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and her team that I’ll be joining a club in such a strong position. I can’t wait to get started later this year and look forward to working closely with the General Committee, the Executive team and our Members to make the most of the opportunities that lie ahead for this great club and all its teams.”

Nottinghamshire’s Commercial Director, Michael Temple, will serve as the Interim Chief Executive pending Kenyon’s arrival.
