Despite COVID-induced losses and near-decimated revenues, the American global entertainment company Live Nation (US) is prepared to spring back and welcome a stronger year in 2022 as the music industry recovers from the crippling effect of coronavirus. With the event and touring space set to return to its customary buzz by the end of the year, it’s been reported that the concert giant has booked twice as many shows and tour dates in the year ahead [2022] as it did in 2019. In addition, its sponsorship commitments have doubled with the company signing new clients.

‘WE RAVE YOU’ stated that already, confirmation of festivals and events in 2022 is sweeping the music industry with music buffs more than eager to claw back on lost time. The likes of Lollapalooza in Stockholm – the capital and largest City of Sweden, Download Festival (British-created rock festival) in Derby, UK, and BBF Barcelona Beach Festival are all set to return next year, bigger and better than ever.

Beverly Hills (California, US)-based Live Nation Entertainment, Inc is an American global entertainment company founded in 2010 following the merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster. The company promotes, operates and manages ticket sales for live entertainment in the United States and internationally.

Lollapalooza Stockholm is a mammoth multigenre music festival, with the Swedish capital being the third European City to welcome the historic festival brand after Paris (France) and Berlin (Germany).

The Barcelona Beach Festival is an electronic music festival held annually in Platja del Fòrum, Barcelona. It is organized by Live Nation and it is estimated that more than 70,000 people attend annually. It is one of the biggest music festivals in Spain.

The above development is music to the ears of Live Nation head honcho Michael Rapino who recently outlined bold post-COVID plans for the current year, which play delightfully into the coming year too. Just recently, the company boss said, “Fans are buying tickets and events are selling out faster than ever. […] We’re just seeing demand beyond any other historic moment. […] Garth Brooks (American singer-songwriter) just this morning broke every Ticketmaster record [6th May].”

Added Rapino, “Around the world, people are showing the need to get out and socialize once again which reinforces our expectation that a return to concerts will be the logical progression as vaccines are readily available to everyone who wants to get one. This is generally already the case in the US where we are confidently planning our reopenings, particularly for outdoor shows, and we expect many of our other major markets will follow this summer.”

‘WE RAVE YOU’ further stated that Live Nation Entertainment is a world-leading live entertainment company comprising four market leaders: Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, Artist Nation Management, and Live Nation Media/Sponsorship. Their platform is dedicated to helping fans find live music events and concert tickets more quickly, as well as information about their favorite artistes. Fans can access some of the most in-demand events such as Creamfields and EDC Vegas, plus, snap up VIP tickets to their favorite shows while enjoying exclusive perks.

‘CONSEQUENCE’ stated that thanks to the upward trajectory of COVID vaccinations, especially in the United States, Live Nation is increasingly confident about the return of live music, and sooner rather than later. To that point, the company has already confirmed several significant tours for 2021, including American singer Dave Matthews, bands Megadeth and Lamb of God, American singer-songwriter Brad Paisley, and American singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton, as well as Fall festival dates for Bonnaroo (American music festival), Rolling Loud (recurring music festival held in the United States of America), and Electric Daisy Carnival (electronic dance music festival in North America). Festivals in particular are selling out in record time, according to Rapino.

Added Rapino, “We are already seeing confirmed major tour dates for 2022 up double digits from the same time pre-pandemic in 2019 for 2020. Many of these artistes will have multiyear tours, spanning the US, Europe and often either Asia or Latin America, setting us up for a strong multiyear growth runs.”

‘CONSEQUENCE’ further stated that among the tours already announced for 2022: American rock bands Rage Against the Machine and My Chemical Romance, both of which are embarking on long-awaited reunion tours, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, English singer and songwriter Roger Waters, and Japanese-British singer Rina Sawayama.
