Macron new technical partner of World Rugby Image: Macron

The world of rugby is Macron’s home, now more than ever. The Hero company, a leading brand in the world of the oval ball, is the new technical partner of World Rugby, the international governing body of 15 and seven-a-side rugby, that regulates relations between national federations and organizes the sport’s most renowned and prestigious tournaments.

‘Macron’ stated that the world’s leading international rugby institution traces their root back to 1886 and today manages a sport played by millions across 128 national federations globally (the latest, Nepal and Panama in 2020). World Rugby is responsible for the organization of the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cup (a men’s rugby union tournament contested every four years between the top international teams), the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cup Sevens (the premier stand-alone international rugby sevens competition outside the Olympic Games), the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series (an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams), and many other mega-sports events around the globe that ignite the passion of over 500 million fans.

Macron S.p.A. is an Italian sporting apparel company, based in Crespellano, Bologna (Italy). It is considered a European leader in the production of active sportswear. Macron operates in three main business areas – Merchandising: Official kits, free-time apparel and accessories for the supporters of Macron’s sponsored clubs.

Macron creates cutting-edge, high performance sportswear to support athletes from grassroots to professionals in their efforts to become their own hero on and off the field.

Dublin (Ireland)-headquartered World Rugby is the world governing body for the sport of rugby union. World Rugby organizes the Rugby World Cup every four years, the sport’s most recognized and most profitable competition.

‘Macron’ further stated that the partnership foresees the provision of sporting apparel for World Rugby Emirates Technical Officials and staff as well as the entire sports merchandising line for international tournaments and matches, including the highly anticipated Rugby World Cup 2023 in France. The rugby Fifteens kit will be unveiled ahead of the men’s and women’s Six Nations.

Macron and World Rugby are already at work to design the new line of clothing, characterized by the quality and technicality that distinguishes the garments of the Italian brand. Made with innovative materials, the kit will ensure maximum comfort, allowing Emirates Match Officials to perform at their best in their crucial roles. The garments’ exclusive design and attention to detail add a touch of elegance that complements the technical aspect. The new jerseys maintain the traditional colors worn by the World Rugby Emirates Match Officials, namely blue, white and orange, but are enriched by a new distinctive and exclusive design.
