The Premier League team Manchester City F.C. (UK) recently announced its collaboration with the globally renowned hotelier – the Radisson Hotel Group – for the club’s 401-room hotel which is set to open in late 2026.

‘MANCHESTER CITY’ stated that known as ‘The Medlock’ the brand-new four-star hotel will be connected to the Manchester City F.C. home arena – the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England (UK) – and will be located within the club’s wider development at the Etihad Campus.

The Manchester City Football Club is a professional football club based in Manchester, England (UK) that competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football.

The City of Manchester Stadium, currently known as the Etihad Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is the home of the Premier League team Manchester City F.C. with a domestic football capacity of 53,600 making it the seventh-largest football stadium in England and the 11th-largest in the United Kingdom.

The Etihad Campus is a sports and community hub in Manchester (UK) primarily owned and operated by the Manchester City F.C. encompassing the Etihad Stadium, the City Football Academy (CFA) training facility and the surrounding undeveloped land.

The Radisson Hotel Group is an international hospitality company that has its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. It originated as a division of the Carlson Companies which owned the Radisson Hotels, the Country Inns & Suites (a hotel chain part of the Radisson Hotel Group) and other brands.

The Carlson Companies was a diversified American holding company known for its interests in hospitality, travel and restaurants but now primarily focuses on family office management through its subsidiary – the Carlson Private Capital Partners.

Operating all year round the hotel will provide convenient and comfortable accommodation for the music and sport fans who are attending events at the Etihad Stadium and the 23,500-capacity Co-op Live in Manchester as well as the guests exploring the campus and Manchester.

‘MANCHESTER CITY’ further stated that ‘The Medlock’ will offer the guests a choice of suites, deluxe and standard rooms, in addition to a luxury penthouse suite. Upon completion the guests will also have access to a wide variety of food and drink outlets, a roof walk and museum experience and commercial office space in the expanded stadium area.

Easily accessible from the Manchester City Centre the hotel will also benefit from a wide range of conference and events options within the Etihad Stadium.

With a global business and leisure footprint that continues to grow, ‘The Medlock’ will join Radisson Blu (an international chain of upscale hotels managed by the Radisson Hotels) and the Radisson Hotel Group’s impressive portfolio of 1,520 hotels in operation and under development in iconic locations around the world.

The upper-upscale hotel will be operated by the industry-recognized hotel management company – the Valor Hospitality.

Manchester (UK)-based the City Football Group Limited (CFG) is a British-based holding company that administers the association football clubs. The group is owned by three organizations of which 81 percent is majority-owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group, 18 percent by the American firm Silver Lake and one percent by the Chinese firms – the China Media Capital and the China International Trust Investment Corporation (CITIC) Capital. The CFG is the Owner of the Manchester City F.C.
