Manchester United has launched the next phase of its fan engagement survey for the club’s proposed new 100,000-seat stadium.

Manchester United said that over the past two years, tens of thousands of Reds fans have shared their views on the future of Old Trafford stadium and the regeneration of the wider surrounding area.

Feedback so far has helped guide the club and has confirmed that building a new world-class stadium is what the majority of fans want to see.

The club now wants to hear more about what matters to fans as the stadium design develops.

Collette Roche, CEO, New Stadium Development, said: “Our proposed new stadium is one of the most significant projects Manchester United will undertake in the next 100 years, and it is vital that we shape it together with our fans.

“Above all else, this is a football stadium built for them, so getting the details right matters. That’s why we are committed to thorough and transparent engagement, ensuring supporters help inform key decisions on atmosphere, affordability, accessibility and the traditions that have made Old Trafford so special for so long.”

The survey will close on Friday 6 November.

Manchester United F.C., commonly referred to as Man United or simply United, is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Stretford, Greater Manchester, England (UK). They compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.

The 74,197-seat Old Trafford is a football stadium in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester, England (UK). It is the home ground of Manchester United F.C. It is the largest club football stadium in the United Kingdom, and the 11th-largest in Europe.

Supporters invited to comment

All match-going supporters – including season-ticket holders, official members and hospitality purchasers – have been sent an email with a link to participate in the survey.

In the coming weeks, the club will also bring together fans from a range of backgrounds and experiences through a series of focus groups to explore key themes and concepts in greater detail.

United said these sessions will help better understand the feedback received, test emerging ideas and ensure supporter views are being accurately interpreted.

Roche added, “Our engagement with supporters since 2024 has shown there is genuine excitement about the prospect of a new stadium, but we also recognise that some fans will have important questions and concerns. Listening to those views and ensuring they are shaping the design is a vital part of the process.

“By working together, we can create a world-class football stadium that supports success on the pitch, reflects the identity of Manchester United, and gives fans a home they can be proud of for generations to come.”

As the project develops, the club said there will be further opportunities to offer views on important topics including ticketing and affordability, supporter facilities, accessibility and other aspects of the matchday experience.

More than 50,000 supporters took part in the consultation which began in 2024, with a majority favouring a new stadium over the redevelopment of Old Trafford.
