New logo for Maracana Image: Maracanã

The Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has a new logo.

A ‘LinkedIn Post By Alexandre Bittencourt, Communications Manager, Maracanã Stadium’ stated, “The Maracanã Stadium launched its visual identity starting a new era under the management of Fla-Flu S/A (the Brazilian professional football teams Flamengo and Fluminense) which will manage the stadium for the next 20 years. The logo, which marks the beginning of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the House of the Unforgettable, represents not only a modernization movement but also the preservation of one of the iconic elements of its history: The columns that support the stadium – listed structures recognized as cultural heritage.”

The ‘LinkedIn Post By Alexandre Bittencourt, Communications Manager, Maracanã Stadium’ further stated, “The design of the new logo refers to the perspective of the fan when arriving at Maracanã, reinforcing the commitment of the new management for whom the fan is and always will be the priority. More than an aesthetic change the new brand values history, preserving the essence and tradition of the House of the Unforgettable.”

The 78,838-capacity Maracanã Stadium, officially named as the Journalist Mário Filho Stadium, is an association football stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, more commonly referred to as simply Flamengo, is a Brazilian multisports club based in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and is best known for their professional football team which plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the highest level of the Brazilian football league system. The Maracanã Stadium serves as their home pitch.

The Fluminense Football Club is a Brazilian sports club based in the neighborhood of Laranjeiras in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) being the oldest football club in the State since its foundation in 1902. It plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the highest level of the Brazilian football league system. The Maracanã Stadium serves as their home field.
