Miral Asset Management will showcase their new Yas Bay Arena project at the Coliseum Summit MENA 2018, which will be held at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sept. 19-20. Two top officials from Miral, the developers of Abu Dhabi’s landmark Yas Island, will present the vision behind the Yas Bay Arena while also highlighting the firm’s other projects that has successfully has transformed the face of the UAE capital in recent times.

Jonathan W Brown, Executive Director – Development, Miral and Gerardo Llanes, Executive Director – Destination Management are among the 30 expert speakers who will share their rich and valuable experience at the prestigious international stadium conference that is expected to be attended by over 200 delegates from around the world. In a special session at the summit, Brown and Llanes will lay out their vision for the new Yas Bay Arena – a first-of-its-kind multipurpose venue being developed on the southern end of Yas Island.

This iconic venue will be an integral part of the 14 million square feet project Yas Bay – an upcoming waterfront destination on the southern end of Yas Island. The Arena is designed as a fully-covered venue with an adjustable configuration to accommodate events with capacities up to 18,000. The venue will have the potential to host large scale events such as sporting competitions, cultural performances, concerts, MICE activities, etc. as well as intimate events.

Moreover, Yas Bay Arena comprises unique, sustainable and cultural features and was recently recognized as the Sustainable Building Design of the Year at the prestigious MENA Green Building Awards 2018. The Arena’s distinctive design strategy will incorporate shading features to provide adequate daylight; whilst the insulating heat will assist in reducing the energy consumption of the building.

The sustainability of the building has been achieved by integrating energy and water efficient building systems as well as architectural treatments. This has led to a 22.4 percent saving in energy and 28 percent saving in water. Yas Bay Arena will be operated by FLASH entertainment.

The entire area of Yas Bay where Yas Bay Arena will occupy a prominent place, is envisioned to become one of the most iconic and vibrant waterfront destinations in the region. Yas Bay will be an epicenter of cultural energy and entertainment, designed to enhance the excitement and unique experiences offered on Yas Island. The destination will include a vibrant waterfront promenade lined-up with 50 restaurant, 20 retail shops as well as two hotels including a Hilton family resort and a beach club.

The overall Yas Bay project on the southern area of Yas Island will also be home to Abu Dhabi’s media zone, twofour54, and the Residences at Yas Bay, an urban island community, offering the complete Yas Island lifestyle. This mega development is set to attract more than 15,000 new residents and 10,000 working professionals to Yas Island.

The UAE in recent times has seen a phenomenal growth in the sports venue sector with landmark projects such as Yas Arena and Dubai Arena in the pipeline making global headlines.

“Coliseum is excited to return to the UAE, which has seen rapid development in the sports and entertainment venue sector with the emergence of a diverse range of new and exciting venues,” said Michael Rennschmied, the CEO of MJR Group, the organizers of the event.

“The Coliseum Summit MENA will offer a great opportunity to these mega venues to learn from each other in terms of experience (parking, food & beverage), ticketing, security etc. Owing to the similarities between entertainment and sports venues, both sectors can learn and benefit from each other,” he added.

Coliseum is looking to establish itself as the center point of expertise and talent within the sports and entertainment venue industry.
