The Coliseum Summit MENA is just round the corner – January 26th, 2022 at Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai. This year the holding of the summit is cause for double delight – firstly, ‘Coliseum’ is back again to holding live conferences and secondly, it is the 10th year anniversary of Coliseum Summit MENA.

Coliseum conferences have a distinct flavor of their own and this year the MENA conference icing on the cake is the ‘Super Panel’ in which venue veterans will take up the topic ‘… the venue as a Destination’.

Sports venues as destinations are the in-thing these days. A lot of stadiums all over the world are eye-catching with marvellous architecture. Many of the sports arenas look like gorgeous pieces of art.

The ‘Super Panel’ in this conference will do a brainstorming on what strategies should sports venues adopt to ensure that fans come early, stay on in the facility much after the event is over and enjoy to the hilt. This will definitely help to keep the venues’ financial wheels well-oiled. After all, sports are a part of the universal culture and an important instrument for combining different people of the world.

The ‘Super Panel’ comprises Mark Kelly, Managing Director, Ashton Gate & Bristol Sport, UK, who will act as the Moderator, Rashed Abdulla Ali, CEO, AACIC, UAE, Rob Hunden, President, Hunden Strategic Partners, US, Joachim Schares, Managing Director, AS+P, Germany, Tim Brouw, Senior Project Manager, Sports Facilities, Saudi Arabia, Avijit Yadav, CEO, Tamdeen Mall Management, Kuwait, and John Lickrish, Chief Executive Officer, Flash Entertainment, UAE.

These venue virtuosos will speak on different aspects of the topic ‘… the venue as a DESTINATION’ like how most sports structures these days are being built or remodeled as mixed-use facilities, how sports tourism is slowly gaining mileage, with today’s crop of discerning fans, stadia will have to offer much more than just holding a match or event to keep spectators in the venue precincts for not just 90 minutes of the game but long after the game is over, and a key topic will be how sports venues in the MENA region should capitalize more on their venues and not just on shopping malls and luxuriant hotels.

It will be an engrossing one-day session with venue wizards from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait all presenting case studies and deliberating on the challenges which the various projects they undertake in the sports venue sector throw up and the subsequent lessons learned – the piquancy of ‘Coliseum’ summits.

Venue aces will throw light on different segments of the stadium business, namely, Venue DESIGN, Venue CONSTRUCTION, Venue BUSINESS, Venue TECHNOLOGY, Venue OPERATIONS, HOST CITY Venues, GREEN Venue, Venue VIP (premium seating), Venue EXPERIENCE, AUDIOVISUAL Solutions, BRAND Development, Venue DESTINATION, and Venue HEALTH, SAFETY & SECURITY.

The delegates’ list comprises who’s who of the sports venue sector. One hundred and thirty industry experts representing stadiums and arenas from 10 countries as well as key consultants, architects, etc., are expected to attend the live meet.

The Coliseum meet on January 26th is sure to keep everybody glued to their seats as venue aces in the one-day session provide the most riveting case studies of their projects. So, get ready for this information-dripping conclave which is sure to leave a glowing splendor at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai and also gear up for a spellbinding ‘Super Panel’ session.
