Swiss football club FC St. Gallen 1879 has launched a competition for fans to vote on a new name for the club’s Kybunpark stadium.

Together with new naming rights partner Berit Klinik, the club says it is launching something very special: a name contest powered by fans.

FC St. Gallen’s stadium will operate under the new name from the 2026/27 season. After a decade, the era of Kybunpark is coming to an end.

The naming contract between FC St. Gallen and the Berit Klinik is set to run for eight years. A new stadium name is to be developed in close cooperation with the fans over the coming months.

The club said in a statement, “Together with FCSG’s loyal and large fan community, the two companies will work out a stadium name in the coming months and announce it in due course. It will include the brand of our partner and, for the first time, an independent, identity-creating stadium name.

“There is space for your idea between BERIT and STADION – a maximum of six characters! Whether creative, humorous, traditional or surprising – your suggestion counts.”

The Kybunpark, formerly known as AFG Arena, is a multi-use stadium in St. Gallen, Switzerland, completed in 2008. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of FC St. Gallen of the Swiss Super League.

The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people. Between 2008 and 2016 the stadium was named after the sponsor Arbonia-Forster-Gruppe (AFG). In July 2016 the name was changed to Kybunpark.

Fans can submit their proposals until October 10th with the three finalists being published on October 25th.

On November 23rd at the home game against Lausanne season ticket holders will vote on the proposed names and the new stadium name will be announced in December.
