FC Noah new stadium approved in Armenia Image: FC Noah

FC Noah have unveiled plans to build a modern UEFA Category 4 stadium in the Armenian city of Vagharshapat, commonly known as Echmiadzin.

Armenpress said the project was submitted for government approval by Imagine Yerevan on behalf of FC Noah and has been endorsed by the Cabinet.

The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 involves the reconstruction and modernization of the Vagharshapat Football Academy, expected to be completed by 2030.

Phase 2 will see the construction of a 15,000-seat stadium, along with additional leisure and infrastructure facilities.

Football Club Noah, commonly known as Noah, is an Armenian professional football club based in Abovyan. Founded in 2017 as FC Artsakh, they currently play in the Armenian Premier League.

The club currently plays at the Vahagn Tumasyan Stadium, an all-seater football stadium in Abovyan, Armenia.

The stadium was opened in 1966 and currently holds a capacity of 3,100 seats. Major renovation works were carried out in 2021-22.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that his administration is also committed to developing a national stadium and other related infrastructure in the

Academic City, which will be capable of hosting international tournaments.

The government is also working on the development of another UEFA Category 4 stadium in Vanadzor.

The sports complex in Vagharshapat will include a hotel, a school, a gym, a dormitory, a football academy, training grounds and more.
