The American former football quarterback Tom Brady has agreed to purchase a minority ownership stake in the National Football League (NFL) team Las Vegas Raiders (US), a source familiar with the deal said recently.

‘CNN’ stated that the above sale is still subject to NFL approval.

Tom Brady is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 23 seasons. He spent his first 20 seasons with the NFL team New England Patriots and was a central contributor to the franchise’s dynasty from 2001 to 2019.

The 65,000-capacity Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, serves as their residence.

The only quarterback to win a Super Bowl in three separate decades, Brady is also noted for the longevity of his success. He was the oldest NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) at age 40, the oldest Super Bowl MVP at age 43 and the oldest quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl at age 44.

‘CNN’ further stated that the seven-time Super Bowl winner was in negotiations with the Raiders.

Enthused Mark Davis, Raiders Owner, “We’re excited for Tom to join the Raiders. It’s exciting because he will be just the third player in the history of the National Football League to become an owner.”

The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback announced his retirement from the NFL in February this year after 23 seasons.

During his long career, the three-time league MVP set almost every passing record, including regular season passing yards (89,214) and passing touchdowns (649). He has also amassed the most wins of any player in NFL history (251).

The agreement with the Raiders is the second partnership between Brady and team owner Davis since the former’s retirement.

In March, it was announced that Brady had acquired an ownership stake in Davis’ Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) franchise, the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.
