A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer system that analyzes and displays geographically referenced information. It uses data that is attached to a unique location.

OnePlan’s GIS mapping platform can be used to plan events of any size or complexity. It allows the users to calculate the venue capacity and plan event items with centimeter-level precision. The OnePlan Studio includes features such as maps, packs, infrastructure, vendor management, furniture, sharing, and PDF export.

OnePlan VenueTwin is a 3D digital twin platform that allows the users to create virtual replicas of physical venues and map out detailed layouts. It’s part of the OnePlan platform, which also includes the geographic information system (GIS) mapping software that allows the event organizers to plan in 2D and high-resolution maps. VenueTwin is accessible via the cloud and can be used by the venue managers, event organizers and their stakeholders.

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the biggest event ever organized in France. The Olympic Games will take place from July 26th-August 11th, 2024, when Paris will become the center of the world – the world of sport, and so much more.

‘POPULOUS’ further stated that OnePlan’s award-winning digital twin software, VenueTwin, enables teams to visualize, plan operations and sell spaces in a virtual version of any venue including the stadiums, arenas, conference centers, and Smart Cities. The company’s Web platform accommodates the event planning of venues of any size, indoors and outdoors, seamlessly integrating existing architectural computer-aided design (CAD) and floor plan files.

The partnership with OnePlan will enable Populous to further enhance its industry-leading live event services. It will also integrate their collaborative VenueTwin platform with its own digital offerings to provide a unique level of planning and visualization for the clients, throughout the design phase and the entire life cycle of the projects.

Put in Paul Foster, Founder and head honcho of OnePlan, “This investment opens an exciting new chapter for OnePlan, building on the fast growth we’ve experienced to date. The unrivaled knowledge and specialisms of the team at Populous will deepen the positive impact our software provides. We’re excited by the new opportunities this partnership opens and the many benefits it creates for events and venues across the world.”

Added Earl Santee, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-cum-Chair of Populous, “This strategic investment is part of our commitment to focus on digital innovation across our business. OnePlan is a company we’ve admired for a long time. Alongside our own design and operational expertise our strategic investment with them will enhance our delivery capabilities for major events worldwide.”

Concluded Nick Reynolds, Chief Global Strategy Officer at Populous, “The increasing role that the virtual environments play in the collaborative design process and the opportunities they provide in connecting the venues and the events to their audiences before and after opening is key to our design approach and the ongoing relationship with our clients. OnePlan has established itself as the leading collaborative platform in 2D and 3D event planning and they will work in tandem with our internal digital teams to enhance the digital twin services we can offer our clients.”
