New images have revealed the impressive progress being made on the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia.

Perched 200 meters above the majestic cliffs of Jabal Tuwaiq, this architectural marvel will redefine the future of sports and entertainment in Saudi Arabia.

With a capacity of more than 46,000 fans, the stadium is envisioned to host major global events, including the 2034 FIFA World Cup, standing as a bold symbol of innovation, ambition, and Vision 2030’s unstoppable momentum.

Qiddiya is a planned entertainment and tourism megaproject in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Construction started at the beginning of 2019.

The 46,979-capacity Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, commonly known as the Qiddiya Stadium, is a proposed multipurpose stadium planned to be built in Qiddiya, an entertainment and tourism megaproject in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) last year appointed a consortium comprising Spain’s FCC Construcción and Saudi Arabia’s Nesma & Partners Contracting Company to construct the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium.

Designed by the renowned architectural firm Populous, the stadium will be the world’s first fully integrated venue featuring a retractable roof, pitch and a light-emitting diode (LED) wall.

This innovative architecture will allow the space to quickly adapt to various event formats enhancing versatility and functionality.

Qiddiya selected the stadium’s location with precision aligning it with a broader vision that puts sports at the heart of everyday life.

The city aims to make athletics a central part of its identity and daily experience. Once completed, the venue will welcome both local and international sporting events. This will draw visitors and boost tourism.

Through this, Qiddiya hopes to enrich the region’s lifestyle and the overall quality of life.

• Lush green spaces intricately landscaped with water features that weave through the terrain
• Large-scale entertainment infrastructure under construction including brightly colored roller coasters and water attractions
• Massive rock-carved structures blending art and the natural topography; and
• High-rise residential and commercial buildings rising steadily supported by a modern network of roads, cranes and the ongoing engineering work.

 
The stadium is strategically located on the edge of the Tuwaiq Mountains, built atop a cliff that provides stunning vistas of the city below.

This prime location not only showcases the natural beauty of the area but also enriches the spectator experience with immersive technological capabilities.

The fans can expect realtime access to live data enhancing their engagement during events that blend sports and entertainment.

The stadium will serve as the future home for the prominent Saudi football clubs Al Hilal and Al Nassr transforming it into a hub for sports enthusiasts.

With an expected annual visitors’ flow of 7.6 million, the venue aims to redefine the fan experience by combining live sporting events with state-of-the-art entertainment options.
