Red Bull has signed on the dotted line to become the official energy drink partner of the Tampere Deck Arena in Finland. The largest events arena of Finland will become operational in 2021.

The deal extends not only to the sale of energy drinks but also collaborating in marketing activities.

As per the pact, all the outlets in the venue will sell Red Bull drinks and it will cover all events held in the arena.

The arena’s utilization rate will be high right from its opening – two Tampere hockey teams, Ilves and Tappara – will play their home games there for the 2021-2022 season. The arena will also play host to the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championships.

Red Bull’s country manager, Petteri Parta, commented, “The agreement with Tampere Deck Arena is important to us. Our investment in local ice hockey kicked off last year with the Red Bull Läpimurto concept, and with this arena collaboration we will be more involved in the actual game events.”

“In addition to sports, we will also support local culture together with some of the biggest festivals and artistes in Finland. Tampere Deck Arena’s capacity of 15,000 guests will be a great setting where we can take event experiences to the next level,” Parta further commented.

Mika Sulin of Starsquad Oy, which is responsible for partnerships at Tampere Deck Arena, shared, “Red Bull will be a great boost to the arena’s partner network in terms of marketing, event and adventure activities, both in Finland and internationally.”

The Tampere Deck Arena will also host extensive international cultural and musical events and experience with artistes coming from different fields.

The eastern and western parts of Tampere are connected by the Tampere Deck and Arena project. The 13,000-15,000-capacity facility will form a new hybrid block that combines living, working and the largest sports and event arena in Finland.

In the first phase, the southern railway yard will be covered with a deck, where two tower blocks, practice rink, arena and a hotel is coming up. The second phase will see the construction of the northern deck and three tower blocks. Around 1,000 homes are estimated to be built in the area.

The new Tampere Deck Arena is owned by a consortium comprising City of Tampere, SRV, and the project’s investors – OP and LähiTapiola.
