Moss Construction will lead Toyota Stadium renovation Image: FC Dallas

Renovation work has kicked off on FC Dallas’ Toyota Stadium after the Major League Soccer (MLS) team partnered with Moss Construction on the project.

FC Dallas said the $182 million project will be carried out in phases, with work on the stadium’s east side currently underway.

FC Dallas is an American professional soccer club based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Texas). The club competes as a member of the Western Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS).

The franchise began play in 1996 as a charter club of the league. The club was founded in 1995 as the Dallas Burn before adopting its current name in 2004.

Toyota Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium located in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, US. Built and owned by the City of Frisco, the 20,500-seat stadium opened in 2005 and serves as the residence of FC Dallas.

FC Dallas President Dan Hunt said, “We are thrilled to be working with Moss on the phased renovation of Toyota Stadium, a project that underscores our dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our fans. Each phase of the renovation has been meticulously planned to ensure minimal disruption to our events while delivering state-of-the-art facilities.

“We are confident that Moss brings deep sports facility expertise and resources necessary to deliver a future-focused stadium that our fans, players, and community will be proud of.”

Renovation highlights include three new clubs, renovated north, east and west entrances, and an architecturally distinctive roof structure that will help provide shade for guests throughout the venue.

The elevated west side and coverings over all seating areas will deliver relief from the Texas sun and shade at kickoff time in the evenings, no matter where fans are seated.

Other upgrades include expanded seating capacity, new suite levels, increased concessions and restroom locations, and the largest video board in an MLS soccer-specific venue.

With more concession stands and restrooms throughout the stadium, fans will spend less time waiting in line and more time making memories.

Elegant, comfortable clubs at both the east and west entrances set the stage for fans, friends and families — while offering new opportunities for corporate entertainment.

The redesigned, relocated press box gives better sight lines and more opportunities for media members to capture the excitement of the Beautiful Game like never before.

Senior Vice President at Moss Construction Jim Cuddihee said, “We are honored to have been awarded the Toyota Stadium renovation project. This achievement is a testament to our team’s expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional results.

“We look forward to enhancing the guest experience and modernizing a stadium that will serve as a premier sports and entertainment venue for years to come.”

FC Dallas will continue hosting MLS matches at Toyota Stadium throughout the renovation. By summer 2026, the east side will reopen as work shifts to the west side.

The full renovation is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2028.
