The National Basketball Association (NBA) team Los Angeles Clippers have announced that their G League team will relocate to Oceanside, California (US) and rebrand as the San Diego Clippers, starting play at the brand new Frontwave Arena for the 2024-2025 seasons.

‘NBA’ stated that the Clippers organization returns to the San Diego area, where the NBA team played from 1978-1984. The above announcement was made at a press event held at the Frontwave Arena in California, where the new G League San Diego Clippers logo was unveiled.

The Los Angeles Clippers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles (US). The Clippers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.

The 18,000-capacity Intuit Dome is an arena under construction in Inglewood, California, United States. It will soon be the home venue of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), who will be moving from the Crypto.com Arena. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new arena was held on September 17th, 2021 and construction is expected to be completed in August 2024.

The Ontario Clippers, formerly known as the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario, are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Ontario, California, and are affiliated with the Los Angeles Clippers. The team began play in the 2017-2018 seasons.

The arena, projected to open in Summer 2024, will be the new home of the Major Arena Soccer League’s San Diego Sockers. The arena will be the first large multipurpose indoor entertainment venue in North County. It will also serve as the new home of the San Diego Clippers.

The Frontwave Arena sets new standards for premium fan experiences with 16 luxury suites, VIP viewing decks, exclusive lounges, and an open-air patio. An expansive outdoor plaza will host performances, activities and more. The Frontwave Arena is expected to open in the Summer of 2024.

The LA Clippers and Halo Sports and Entertainment – the new umbrella brand encompassing the Clippers and their G League team, the Kia Forum, and Intuit Dome – will partner with the Frontwave Arena to run the business operations of the G League San Diego Clippers. The LA Clippers President, Basketball Operations, Lawrence Frank will continue to oversee basketball operations for both the teams.

The LA Clippers and their G League team maintain a close relationship between the players and the staff to maximize growth and resources. Twelve of the 18 players on the LA Clippers’ current roster have spent time in the G League during their career.
