The Saracens Rugby Club (UK) has cemented their relationship with the American financial services company StoneX following their latest sponsorship renewal.

‘SIG’ stated that the agreement will see the extension of StoneX’s stadium naming rights with the partnership expanding to include the StoneX logo appearing on the front of the team’s shirts for the 2024-2025 seasons. This sees StoneX replace the financial services and investments company City Index on the Premiership rugby union club’s kits.

The Saracens Rugby Club is an English professional rugby union club based in North London, England (UK) currently playing in Premiership Rugby which is the highest level of competition in English rugby.

The 10,500-capacity Barnet Copthall is a sports venue on the Hendon-Mill Hill borders in London (UK) which houses several complexes including a local authority-owned swimming pool and gymnasium facilities, a golf-driving range with a nine hole pitch and putt run by Metro Golf. The main stadium is a multiuse venue which is home of the rugby union Premiership side Saracens. The stadium is currently known as the StoneX Stadium for sponsorship reasons.

New York (US)-based the StoneX Group is an institutional-grade financial services franchise offering advanced digital platforms, end-to-end clearing and execution services and global market expertise to its clients worldwide.

As a global leader in FX (foreign exchange) and contract for difference (CFD) trading as well as Spread Betting (UK only), City Index provides competitive spreads and access to thousands of markets worldwide through a combination of innovative trading technology and excellent customer service.

Spread betting is any of various types of wagering on the outcome of an event where the pay-off is based on the accuracy of the wager rather than a simple “win or lose” outcome such as fixed-odds betting or parimutuel betting.

‘SIG’ further stated that StoneX first partnered with Saracens in 2020 and moved to a naming rights deal in 2021 which was reported to surpass the £2m a year deal with the previous sponsor Allianz.

The Allianz SE is a German multinational financial services company headquartered in Munich, Germany. Its core businesses are insurance and asset management. Allianz is the world’s largest insurance company and the largest financial services company in Europe.

The home of the Saracens RFC has been voted as the top Premiership rugby matchday experience and will continue to host their men’s and women’s sides as well as the top level university matches.

The financial services company is currently exploring a rebrand, which is likely to affect the name of the StoneX Stadium. This is expected to be confirmed by the time the Premiership kicks off in September.

The Saracens men’s side have won the European Champions Cup three times and the Premiership five times in the last 10 years. The women’s team (Saracens Women) has won the last two Premier XV titles.

The European Rugby Champions Cup (known as the Investec Champions Cup for sponsorship reasons) is an annual rugby union tournament organized by the European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR). It is the top-tier competition for clubs who compete in a predominantly European league.

Lausanne (Switzerland)-based the European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) is the governing body and organizer of the two major club rugby union tournaments: The European Rugby Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup (an annual rugby union competition).

Put in Phillip Smith, head honcho, StoneX Financial Limited, “The club and StoneX are driven by a relentless commitment to achieving excellence, shared values and a unified vision for the future. For both the organizations, the phrase ‘pounding the rock’ is ubiquitous and one that both our professionals and the Saracens players can relate to. This relationship is poised to evolve, reaching new heights and continuing to make a significant impact both on and off the field.”

Concluded Mark Thompson, Saracens Chief Executive Officer (CEO), “StoneX put their faith in our people at a challenging moment for both Saracens and the world. Given their extraordinary growth since then, to see them renew and extend that commitment to our club and the community is truly humbling. We could not be more excited for the future of our partnership.”
