New stadium for CD Eldense Spain Image: CD Eldense

The Elda City Council in Alicante, Spain, and Pascual Pérez, the President of the Spanish football team CD Eldense, struck a deal recently to construct a new home venue for the Primera Federación club. The new venue will sit in the site where the present home of CD Eldense – the Estadio Nuevo Pepico Amat in Elda – stands.

‘CD Eldense’ stated that the Government authorities have already given their go-ahead to the project and construction work will get rolling soon.

The Club Deportivo Eldense is a Spanish football team based in Elda, in the autonomous community of Valencia. Founded in 1921, the club plays in Primera Federación, and holds home matches at the Estadio Nuevo Pepico Amat, which has a capacity to hold 4,036 spectators.

The Primera Federación, formerly known as Primera División RFEF, is the third tier of the Spanish football league system beginning with the 2021-2022 seasons. It is administered by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (governing body of football in Spain).

‘CD Eldense’ further stated that the municipal authorities as well as the stadium operators are in talks to carry out a feasibility study on the above project. The planned new venue will be able to accommodate circa 18,000 spectators and apart from holding CD Eldense fixtures, the facility will also hold cultural events.

An underground car park with a capacity to hold 3,000 vehicles, a hotel and a commercial area will also be part of the new venue project.
