Sporting Kansas City will play their highly anticipated home match against Inter Miami CF at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Home to the reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium features a natural grass playing surface and is one of 11 American stadiums selected for FIFA World Cup 2026.

The world-class venue will also host a CONMEBOL Copa America 2024 match-up between the United States Men’s National Team and Uruguay on July 1.

Sporting KC played more than 200 matches – including the 2004 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final – at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium during the club’s first 12 seasons from 1996-2007.

They last played inside the venue in 2010 for the team’s unforgettable victory over Manchester United with a record-setting crowd of 52,424 fans in attendance.

Tickets for the match on Saturday, April 13, will start at $65 for the general public and will go on sale beginning at 12 p.m. CT on January 16 via Ticketmaster.

Sporting Kansas City President and CEO Jake Reid said, “This match has generated an unprecedented amount of interest since Major League Soccer released our schedule less than three weeks ago.

“We believe this will be the biggest event in Kansas City this spring and we are proud to partner with Arrowhead Events to provide an incredible experience for our fans and our team. The opportunity to host this match, which is set to be Lionel Messi’s first MLS match in the Midwest, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is especially exciting as our region prepares to host Copa America matches this summer and FIFA World Cup matches in 2026.”

Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead Events President Mark Donovan said, “The Arrowhead Events team is excited to open up GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to host our friends from Sporting KC for their match against Inter Miami CF this spring.

“The venue remains one of the top destinations and experiences for fans of all sports. The interest and demand for this match is extremely high, and we know that both clubs, their supporters, and viewers will enjoy experiencing this unique soccer match played at the home of the Chiefs.”

The Coliseum Summit US 2024 will be held at Arrowhead Stadium, June 5+6.

SKCvMIA, which will be held on the anniversary of the club’s inaugural match and the stadium’s first MLS match on April 13, 1996, is primed to break the all-time MLS attendance record in Kansas City (32,867).

In addition to serving as the club’s home for a dozen seasons, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium has hosted numerous other soccer matches featuring teams from across the globe in the last 50 years.
