The Twickenham Stadium in Twickenham, England will be the flagship venue for a new golf tour arriving in the United Kingdom this Summer.

‘Twickenham Stadium’ stated that through a collaboration with the US-based golf company, Stadium Golf Tour, the sports marketing agency MAVERICK SPORTS + ENTERTAINMENT, the sponsorship experts, and the stadium, a new tour has been created that affords golfers the chance to play in some of the most iconic stadia in the world, including now, the home of England Rugby.

The 82,000-capacity Twickenham Stadium in Twickenham, South-West London, England (UK), is a rugby union stadium owned by the Rugby Football Union, the English rugby union governing body, which has its headquarters there. The England national rugby union team plays their home matches at the stadium.

As sponsorship specialists, London (UK)-based MAVERICK SPORTS + ENTERTAINMENT are the sport, entertainment and culture axis of the MAVERICK GROUP. Its creative and commercial expertise helps the company to forge meaningful, holistic and unexpected connections between brands, partners and consumers. But there’s a method to their Maverick.

The US-based golf company Stadium Golf Tour transforms the most famous sports venues in the world into uniquely designed nine-hole golf courses.

The Coliseum Summit Europe is presently under way at the Twickenham Stadium, UK (March 22-23, 2023).

‘Twickenham Stadium’ further stated that the tour will take place throughout the Summer and include five other stadia. The Twickenham will host upwards of 7,000 golfers when the tour arrives there between June 8th-11th. On those dates, the stadium will be transformed into a nine-hole golf course, however, with a surprising new format and scoring system.

Instead of just walking around the pitch, the nine tee boxes will be situated on specially constructed platforms situated around the stadium bowl. Golfers will then hit shots onto the related green situated on the pitch, with a self-scoring system from Eagle to Double Bogie, depending on how close to the hole they get.

The format allows each golfer to witness the atmosphere of the stadium, while taking part in engaging and competitive golf for groups of up to eight at a time. In addition to the nine-hole course, golfers will receive access to ‘The Clubhouse’ and booking options will offer access to golf simulators, a putting and chipping challenge, hitting platform and even tours of the England Changing Rooms. Twickenham are also building additional hospitality packages into the experience that allow players to make the most of their time at the stadium.

Commented Nils Braude, Managing Director, Twickenham Experience Limited, “This is an incredible partnership, which will turn an 82,000-seater stadium into a visionary, powerful and exciting golf course. We’re delighted to form a pivotal role in such an innovative tour. Everyone at Twickenham will make sure we play our part by offering great hospitality and experience to every one of the golfers that comes and plays at the Home of England Rugby.”

Nils Braude, Managing Director, Twickenham Experience Limited, UK, is one of the Speakers at the Coliseum Summit Europe presently underway at the Twickenham Stadium.

Maintained Michael Wiggins, President of the Stadium Golf Tour, “We wanted to kick off the United Kingdom tour by going to some amazing stadiums with great fan bases. So, the Twickenham Stadium is right on top of the list.”

Tickets will go on presale to Twickenham Stadium subscribers at 9 am on March 30th and public sale at midday on the same day. Tickets will be on sale via twickenhamstadium.com and fans can subscribe to be the first to access tickets via https://www.twickenhamstadium.com/newsletter.
