The Abu Dhabi-based real estate development, management and investment company Miral has declared that the UAE capital’s first-of-its-kind mixed-use indoor venue – Etihad Arena – is set to host its first event by mid-April this year.

Once the multiuse facility’s door is opened to the public, it will be a watershed moment for the people of Abu Dhabi and will be hailed as a regional milestone in terms of live entertainment. The venue will boast flexible capacity ranging from 200 to 18,000 people.

Etihad Arena is located at Yas Bay in Abu Dhabi, a 14 million square feet mixed-use development on the southern end of Yas Island. Yas Bay holds within three well-defined areas – Yas Bay Waterfront that is set to become Abu Dhabi’s premier nightlife destination once complete, The Residences at Yas Bay and twofour54.

Miral informed that the venue has been designed to allow for both extensive and private events, offering audiences diverse experiences.

Yas Bay Arena was named Etihad Arena following a deal struck between Miral and Etihad Airways – the second largest airline of UAE – in January this year.

Etihad Arena is all set to provide a fillip to Abu Dhabi’s tourism industry and bear aloft Yas Island’s entertainment offerings – from sporting competitions to world-class concerts, and from musicals to international exhibitions.

The Arena sits within Yas Bay Waterfront, which also assimilates the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, a beach club, and an 11,000 sq m pier enjoying 37 cafes and eateries and 19 retail outlets.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, exulted, “We are excited to be soon hosting the first event at Etihad Arena, the most highly anticipated events landmark in Abu Dhabi this year.”

“The Arena has been designed to complement Yas Island’s vision by creating a new hub in the UAE and across the region. Etihad Arena is yet another unique addition to Yas Island that will help position it as a top global destination for entertainment, leisure and business, while also contributing to the UAE’s vision for economic diversification,” he further observed.
