The Penn State (Pennsylvania State University) Board of Trustees recently approved 22-8 the naming of the field at the Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania (US) as the West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium.

‘gopsusports.com’ stated that the visionary and significant gift from the Werzyn Family and West Shore Home® provides incredible support and momentum to the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project helping to ensure a future foundation for Penn State Football (the Penn State Nittany Lions team represents the Pennsylvania State University in college football and the Beaver Stadium is their home venue) and for all of Penn State’s 31 athletics programs. In recognition of the generosity of the Werzyn family and West Shore Home the field will be known as the West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium beginning with the 2025 season through the 2039 season.

The 106,572-capacity Beaver Stadium is a college football stadium on the campus of the Pennsylvania State University (US) in the Penn State University Park (the main campus of the Pennsylvania State University).

The Werzyn family, specifically B.J. Werzyn, is known for founding and leading the West Shore Home, a home remodeling company that has expanded all over the United States with a focus on convenient and fast home renovations.

Put in Patrick Kraft, Vice-President for Intercollegiate Athletics, “We are incredibly grateful to B.J., P.J. and West Shore Home for this game-changing gift as their commitment to Penn State Athletics and the institution will have a lasting impact on our student-athletes, the fans and the community. As an alumnus of our great university and a business owner in Central Pennsylvania B.J. understands the critical role that the Beaver Stadium plays in our community as well as the importance of preserving the great traditions of Penn State while helping us build a strong future. We are thankful to the Werzyn family and West Shore Home for their generosity and dedication to Penn State.”

‘gopsusports.com’ further stated that the transformational support from the Werzyn family and West Shore Home to the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project is a testament to the power of the Penn State community. The philanthropic support is the driving force that allows the Penn State Athletics to modernize the stadium for year-round use and improve the gameday experience while preserving the rich history of the Beaver Stadium.

Remarked B.J. Werzyn, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of West Shore Home, LLC, “West Shore is proud to be founded and based in Pennsylvania and this partnership with the Penn State is an exciting opportunity for our company. The West Shore Home sets the standard for excellence in home remodeling and the Penn State sets the standard for excellence in academics and athletics. It’s a great relationship.”

In addition to their incredible support of Penn State Athletics the West Shore Home is committed to the academic mission of the university and the continued enrichment of the Penn State students and is committed to a new partnership with the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST – college in Penn State) and the Nittany AI Alliance (provides the students with unique opportunities to help prepare them to lead in a world shaped by artificial intelligence). This new IST partnership aims to provide the Penn State students with opportunities to expand their studies in their chosen field through internships with West Shore Home that connect their academic pursuits with real-world experience.

Noted Neeli Bendapudi, Penn State President, “This gift from the Werzyn family and West Shore Home is a testament to their incredible generosity and unwavering commitment to the Penn State. Their support is meaningful in driving the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project forward and I’m also thrilled at the ongoing discussions on developing a new partnership that will provide hands-on experiences for our students in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. The Werzyn family and West Shore Home embody the spirit of our Penn State community – fueling success on the field, in the classroom and beyond. We are deeply grateful for their visionary leadership and dedication to shaping Penn State’s future.”

A 1999 Penn State graduate B.J. Werzyn is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the West Shore Home, LLC. The West Shore Home, headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania (US), is a leading technology-enabled home remodeling service provider with an expanding national footprint. Since the company’s founding in 2006 Werzyn has made the West Shore Home one of the premier home remodeling companies in the United States with 40 locations in 20 States.

Added David Kleppinger, Chair of Penn State’s Board of Trustees, “On behalf of the Board of Trustees I am proud to announce the naming of the field at the Beaver Stadium in recognition of the extraordinary generosity of the Werzyn family and the West Shore Home. This forward-thinking gift is yet another powerful example of how the Penn State community coalesces to invest in our future. Their support will not only elevate the gameday experience but also has the potential to provide the Penn State students with applied learning opportunities which is central to President Bendapudi’s vision. B.J. and P.J. Werzyn, along with their partners at the West Shore Home, are setting a new standard for how philanthropy and innovation can shape the future of our university and its students for years to come.”

Once completed the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project will also create additional revenue to benefit all 31 sports programs at the University Park while simultaneously fostering economic growth across the region.

Beaver Stadium in 2025

Construction continues on the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project with work currently being undertaken on both the East and West sides of the stadium. Micropiling has begun on the West side of the stadium in preparation for the construction of the PAM Health Misitano Family Tower (named in recognition of a $25 million gift from the Misitano Family and PAM Health, a healthcare provider specializing in rehabilitation), suite levels, expanded concourses, and elevator/stair towers on the perimeter. In addition, 7,900 temporary bleacher seats will be installed on top of the suite level along with temporary concession and restroom amenities for the season. On the East side expansion of the main concourse is underway as well as critical maintenance projects to repair some of the aging elements of the stadium.

The Revitalized Beaver Stadium

The completed revitalization will offer a new mix of seating options for the Penn State fans including non-premium seats located in the lower and upper level accounting for approximately 75 percent of seating on the West side. The West side will also include a variety of premium seating options and amenities in line with the modern stadiums around the world.

Support for the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project advances the university’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, the alumni and the friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success, driving research, outreach and economic development that grow their shared strength and readiness for the future and increasing the university’s impact for families, patients and communities across the Commonwealth (four States: Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia) and around the world.
