Hollywood Park and Cisco – the American multinational technology conglomerate – have entered into a collaboration which makes the latter the official IT network services partner of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park.

The collaboration envisages end-to-end deployment of Cisco’s industry-leading sports and entertainment solutions across SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. The objective is to make the arena boast cutting edge technology and pride itself on being one of the spiffiest mixed-use developments in the world.

Being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E Stanley Kroenke, Hollywood Park will be built on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning. It is part of Cisco’s intent-based networking technology, a new concept in the information technology space.

The leading-edge technology will enable SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park to streamline operations, conceive new business ideas and create an enriching experience for fans in terms of new content, experiences and engagement opportunities.

Ken Martin, General Manager of Sports & Entertainment, Cisco, remarked, “What Stan Kroenke is building at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park will undoubtedly serve as a crown jewel in a city known for creativity, risk-taking and bold statements. By partnering with Cisco, Hollywood Park is making a clear commitment to providing its guests with an unparalleled and seamless experience across the entire footprint of the property, all built on a technological foundation that allows us to be limited only by our collective imagination.”

The Cisco Connected Stadium Wi-Fi network at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park will utilise Wi-Fi 6, the next-generation wireless standard. With this, it will enjoy the tag of deploying this technology in a big way in a sports venue. The more than 2,500 Wi-Fi 6 access points in the venue will facilitate faster speeds for immersive-experience applications, more bandwidth (four times greater capacity than the previous Wi-Fi standard) and greater dependability. The technology is such that it will not be taxing on a device’s battery. The high-density network will also facilitate SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park to use to its maximum advantage one secure Wi-Fi platform for employees, operations and fan-facing services.

Jason Gannon, Managing Director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, shared, “SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park are the future of live sports and entertainment. We envision SoFi Stadium not just hosting world-class events like the Super Bowl and the Olympics, but also serving as a dynamic media platform. Our partnership with Cisco will set a new standard for the fan experience through cutting-edge technology that will enhance the way guests interact with live events, not only at SoFi Stadium but across all of Hollywood Park.”

The global sports and entertainment destination spread over 298-acre of land will help the technology giant to realize Cisco Vision, an end-to-end dynamic signage solution that combines high-definition video delivery with state-of-the art digital signage.

The first-ever entirely 4K deployment of Cisco Vision will power approximately 2,500 screens across the length and breadth of SoFi Stadium’s concourses, suites, concessions, as well as across Hollywood Park. This will earn it the label of one of the sleekest venues in the world to create and deliver media-centric experiences. With one control point for all screens, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park will be in a position to dynamically program every inch of the property and make available bespoke options for each screen.

Set to open in July 2020, SoFi Stadium is the pièce de résistance of Hollywood Park and the future home of the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is the 2.5-acre American Airlines Plaza and a performance venue with the capacity to hold a crowd of 6,000. It will host various events the whole year through which will include esports, award shows, concerts, and more. Hollywood Park is a mixed-use development that will enjoy added attractions like residential, retail, and commercial areas, as well as more than 20 acres of parkland for community use.

Hollywood Park has anticipated an initial phase of more than 1.5 million square feet of retail and office space, 2,500 residences, and a hotel.

SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park has partnered with Cisco going by its longstanding expertise in the sports and entertainment industry. Cisco has entered into partnership with venues, teams, leagues and organizations over the past decade and enjoys the reputation of allowing fans to experience tailor-made services and makes their visit to the stadium an enjoyable one. Hundreds of venues in various countries around the globe apply Cisco’s sports and entertainment solutions.

SoFi Stadium has already secured Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the College Football National Championship Game in 2023, and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in 2028.
