The Spanish professional football club – one of the world’s best known teams which have a huge fan following the world over – Real Madrid, released a video recently showing the latest refurbishment work at its home venue – Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain.

The residence of Real Madrid is undergoing total transformation – complete spruce-up, a state-of-the-art look has been lent by adding a futuristic façade, retractable roof, and premium facilities.

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is a football stadium in Madrid, Spain. With a current seating capacity of 81,044, it has been the home stadium of Real Madrid since its completion in 1947. It is the second-largest stadium in Spain and the largest in the Community of Madrid. In fact, it is one of the world’s most famous football venues.

The video shows the demolition works ongoing outside the stadium for the construction of a new subterranean parking spot, as well as the stripped-back exterior of the old stadium, and more works on the bowl’s North and South stand sections.

One feature of the future stadium which has now come to the fore is the metal structure belonging to the new towers on the Paseo de la Castellana. Furnished with ramps, escalators and lifts, the new towers will replace the current B and C towers and will help in making the flow of spectators more fluid. They will also serve an architectural purpose, given that they will provide structural buttress to the new roof.

The price tag of the redecoration work is said to be approximately €575m.
