Dickies Arena, which is adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus (American public entertainment, sports and livestock complex) in Fort Worth, Texas, US, is an exciting, state-of-the-art venue for events of all kinds, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, community events and the Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances wherein cowboys show their skill at riding broncos, roping calves, wrestling steers, etc.

A public ribbon cutting ceremony was held in the venue on October 26th, 2019, and the venue got off the ground on November 8th, 2019 with a Twenty One Pilots concert. Twenty One Pilots is an American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio, US – lead vocalist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun.

At a time when COVID-19 continues to badger the United States, the Dickies Arena organizers are formulating a foolproof plan to stage basketball games right inside the facility when one has to be extra cautious about holding any kind of events – the kind of ‘new normal’ in a COVID-struck planet.

Dickies Arena is all set to host the Southwest Showcase for the first time on November 29th. The double header event will see Texas Tech University (in Lubbock, Texas) take on University of Houston (in Houston, Texas) and Sam Houston State University (in Huntsville, Texas) take on Boise State University from the northwestern US State of Idaho.

Right after this, the Texas A&M University Aggies (a public land-grant research university in College Station, Texas) and the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs (the athletics team that represents Texas Christian University) men’s basketball programs are set to face off at Dickies Arena on December 12th during the annual Lone Star Showdown.

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) event was held at Dickies Arena on August 29th -30th, 2020, which was a roaring success. For the first time in 16 years, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) elite ‘Unleash the Beast’ returned to Fort Worth, Texas. All health standards were followed while hosting the event.

Hosting an event during the time of coronavirus is fraught with challenges. Says Bill Shaw, Assistant GM, Trail Drive Management Corp at Dickies Arena, on the forthcoming basketball fixtures “It’s very exciting. That’s what we all love to do. We have been doing this for a living and it has been a long time. We have been planning the ticketing and it is very exciting to get back into it and to welcome fans back into our home here.”

On steps being initiated taking into consideration the grave pandemic situation in US, he informed mediapersons, “One of the main restrictions will be capacity which will be limited to about 5,000 fans. We have set up pod seating system in the sense socially distanced fans in the arena in a kind of chequerboard pattern.”

Event organizers in the Dickies Arena stated that that they are fully aware of the fact that COVID-19 cases are spiking in the US and they are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it’s a safe event for everyone in attendance.

Shaw added, “We do keep the six feet distance concept, we have got markers everywhere to allow fans to keep that six feet distance interactions. We have put hand sanitizers everywhere.”

Exulted Trail Drive Management Corp.’s Matt Homan, President and General Manager of Dickies Arena, “We are excited to revive some historic basketball matchups at Dickies Arena. In collaboration with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), health professionals and Government leaders we have implemented extensive procedures and protocols to protect the health and safety of the student athletes, coaches and fans. We look forward to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests and bringing great games to Fort Worth.”

‘Disney On Ice’ comes to Fort Worth from December 17th -20th when it presents the current show, ‘Dream Big’ at Dickies Arena.

The event will feature favorite Disney friends such as Mickey, Minnie, Miguel, Moana, Elsa, Belle, Genie, and more highlighting all the magic and adventure of Disney’s tales through world-class figure skating.

The company said it is also introducing Guest Wellness Enhancements to help keep families safe at its live events, working closely with venue partners to establish and follow COVID-19 health and safety standards in keeping with all federal, State and local guidelines.

Pod seating has been created for family and friends to safely enjoy ‘Disney On Ice’ while social distancing from other groups that are also in attendance. Seating capacity at the Dickies Arena for ‘Disney On Ice’ will be reduced with the pod seating structure in place. As an additional precaution, a face covering is required for those in the age 2 and older bracket unless otherwise exempted from doing so by law.
