Foolproof COVID measures at Wembley Stadium

Fans attending England’s Euro 2020 group games at the 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium in England (UK) will be required to produce proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before they get ingress to the venue.

‘BBC’ quoted the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) as stating that UK-based ticket holders aged 11 or above can show proof of full vaccination, with both doses received at least 14 days before the fixture.

Euro 2020 is scheduled to be the 16^th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Europe organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It will be held from June 11^th to July 11^th, 2021.

Nyon (Switzerland)-based the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is the administrative body for football, futsal and beach soccer in Europe. It is one of six continental confederations of world football’s governing body FIFA. UEFA consists of 55 national association members.

‘BBC’ further stated that those who have not taken both the jabs must show proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within the previous 48 hours.

England plays Croatia in their opening group game on June 13^th.

Ticket holders for matchups taking place at the 51,866-capacity Hampden Park in Glasgow (Scotland) will not be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test.

Fans that live in England attending games at Wembley Stadium can show their vaccination status via the National Health Service (NHS) app.

The UEFA said its “main priority” is to deliver a safe tournament, and is “working with the local Governments and health authorities to ensure measures adhere to the public health guidance of the host country”.

Wembley Stadium and Hampden Park are among 11 facilities across Europe hosting Euro 2020 games. The others are in Rome (Italy), Munich (Germany), Baku (Azerbaijan), St Petersburg (Russia), Budapest (Hungary), Seville (Spain), Bucharest (Romania), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Copenhagen (Denmark).

Wembley will host a maximum of 22,500 fans – 25% percent of its capacity – for England’s Group D fixtures against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic.

The awesome arena is also due to host a last-16 tie as well as both semi-finals and the final.
