University of Tennessee new baseball stadium Image: Tennessee Fund

The University of Tennessee Athletics took to Twitter recently to tease the newest renovations at the Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Tennessee (US) and asked for input from the fans through donations.

The ‘WVLT8’ stated that official construction has not begun, according to the University of Tennessee Fund website. This announcement served to gather fan input on which type of seating fans preferred.

The Tennessee Volunteers track and field program represents the University of Tennessee in the sport of track and field. The indoor and outdoor programs compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference.

The University of Tennessee is a public land-grant research university in Knoxville, Tennessee (US). Founded in 1794, two years before Tennessee became the 16th State, it is the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee system, with 10 undergraduate colleges and 11 graduate colleges.

The Lindsey Nelson Stadium is a baseball stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee (US). It is the home field of the University of Tennessee Volunteers college baseball team. The stadium opened on February 23rd, 1993 and holds 4,387 people.

The ‘WVLT8’ further stated that the new stadium will offer various types of luxury seating from suites to field-level MVP seats. Each seating option required an initial donation of up to $3,000.

The donations and input will then help build the formal construction plan.

The construction timeline and the final completion date have not been announced and are still to be determined, according to University of Tennessee website.
 

Lindsey Nelson Stadium

The ‘Tennessee Fund’ stated that the Tennessee Athletics has announced upcoming facility enhancements to Lindsey Nelson Stadium at the Robert M. Lindsay Field. The Lindsey Nelson Stadium is set to become one of the most premier college baseball venues in the country with improved player development areas, more seating for Vol Nation, wider concourses, more concession stands and restrooms, and new luxurious premium sections. The new home of Vol Baseball will aim to provide a world-class experience for current and future Volunteer student-athletes and fans alike.

The Tennessee Athletics is seeking help to determine the future of Lindsey Nelson Stadium -“Your responses and seat deposits will guide us as we develop the seating plan for our future. The quicker we understand our demand and your preferences, the quicker we can deliver the best college baseball stadium in the country. Please help us chase our goals for each seating product. ”
 

Suites

The ‘Tennessee Fund’ further stated that above the grandstand, watch every pitch in Lindsey Nelson Stadium from one of the prime views of the diamond. Luxury suites hold 20 guests and include chairs, barstools and an operable glass door to comfortably watch any Vols game. These seats are close to the action and fun for entertaining!

The Tennessee Volunteers football program represents the University of Tennessee. The Vols have played football for 130 seasons, starting in 1891.

Capital commitment: $500,000 ($100,000 payable over a five-year term).
Annual cost: $66,000/year.
 

Porch

Baseball porches include a unique experience for fans at the Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Each porch includes 20 tickets as well as a grill, heater, table with high top chairs, and the opportunity to bring your own food and beverages to the game. Grill out with your friends as you cheer on the Vols!

  • Located in left field;
  • Twenty guests allowed per porch;
  • Grill provided; and
  • Option to bring your own food and beverage.

*All current Porch season ticket holders are not impacted for the 2023 season.

As construction begins, the Porches may be reimagined and the cost, capital gift commitment and amenities may change.
 

Club Seats

Elevate your viewing experience in the new club behind the home plate. Seating provides access to an indoor viewing area where you can enjoy all the amenities of premium seating along with an unobstructed view of the field.

  • Chairback seats with expanded leg room;
  • Enhanced food and beverage offerings;
  • Private restrooms;
  • Exclusive access to a climate-controlled indoor club area; and
  • Premium space with televisions and other fan amenities.

Capital Commitment: $10,000 ($2,000 payable over a five-year term).
Annual Cost: $3,500/year.
 

MVP Seats

The MVP Field Level seats bring fans as close to the action as possible! Located directly behind the home plate, the MVP Field Level seats feature padded chairback seating with cup holders and access to an interior club room.

  • Located on the field level directly behind the home plate;
  • Cushioned chairback seat with cup holders;
  • Access to climate-controlled club with refreshments;
  • The club includes private restrooms, TVs and lounge.

*All current MVP seat holders are not impacted for the 2023 season.

As construction begins, the MVP Club will be reimagined and the cost, capital gift commitment and amenities may change.
 

Loge Box

Enjoy great sightlines from this unique premium seating experience. Loge boxes feature a four-seat social table in an exclusive area along the third baseline. Other amenities may include: In-seat food and drink service, access to a private bar behind the loge boxes and access to the indoor, climate-controlled club behind the home plate. Your executive style seats include a counter top for eating and drinking convenience, as well as a personal flat-screen TV.

  • Enhanced food and beverage offerings;
  • In-seat charging stations/power outlets;
  • Private restrooms;
  • Exclusive access to a climate-controlled indoor club area; and
  • Premium space with televisions and other fan amenities.

*All Loge Box amenities are subject to change based on demand, configuration and industry standards.

Capital Commitment: $50,000 ($10,000 payable over a five-year term)
Annual Cost: $15,000/year

Standard Season Tickets
