At a recent meeting the Milan Mayor Beppe Sala had with Lombardy (Italy) President Attilio Fontana, not only the Founder and Managing Partner of RedBird Capital Partners Gerry Cardinale were present but also the industry-leading management consulting firm CAA ICON head honcho Tim Romani.

‘sempremilan.com’ stated that the above development was clear signal that the Serie A club A.C. Milan was firm on going ahead with its standalone home venue plans.

Earlier, in March, the top-flight had decided to give the task of building its new stadium to CAA ICON and the club is interested in building its home digs in the La Maura area in Milan, Italy.

New York (US)-based the RedBird Capital Partners is a private investment firm focused on building high-growth companies with flexible, long-term capital in partnership with its Entrepreneur and Family Office Network. Founded by former Goldman Sachs Partner Gerry Cardinale, RedBird today manages over $8.6 billion of capital principally across its Sports, TMT, Financial Services, and Consumer industry verticals.

A division of CAA Sports, Denver (US)-based CAA ICON is the industry-leading owner’s representative and strategic management consulting firm for public/private sports and entertainment facility owners and operations, professional franchises and leagues.

AC Milan or simply Milan is a professional football club in Milan, Italy, founded in 1899. The club has spent its entire history, with the exception of the 1980-1981 and 1982-1983 seasons, in the top flight of Italian football, known as Serie A since 1929-1930.

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, commonly known as San Siro, is a football stadium in the San Siro district of Milan, Italy, which is the home of A.C. Milan and Inter Milan. It has a seating capacity of 80,018, making it one of the largest stadiums in Europe, and the largest in Italy.

‘sempremilan.com’ further stated that two meeting were held and in the second meeting Romani was present.

Cardinale told newsmen, “Nothing concrete has been finalized as to A.C. Milan’s home venue and it is still in the works. However, the meeting was fruitful.”

Tim Romani helms CAA Icon and he is also the founder of the same. A company who are among the international leaders in the construction of state-of-the-art sports facilities. Milan has chosen them for their stadium pursuit, and Romani’s presence is an important signal that Cardinale is keen on accelerating the matter.

The RedBird Capital Partners bought Italian soccer champions A.C. Milan last August in a 1.2 billion euro deal.

Among the projects that CAA ICON have been involved in are the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London (UK), the 65,000-capacity Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the Milwaukee Bucks Entertainment District in Milwaukee, the 92,542-capacity Rose Bowl in Pasadena – all the venues sits in the United States – and other mega stadiums for American sports.

The Milwaukee Bucks Entertainment District, also known as the ‘Deer District’, is an indoor-outdoor sports, retail and entertainment destination anchored by an interactive public plaza that serves as the City’s (Milwaukee in the US State of Wisconsin) new “living room”.

Unlike previous attempts at building a new stadium for Milan, Cardinale is hopeful this time that work will be initiated on building a new home digs for A.C. Milan at the earliest.
