The Serie A club A.C. Milan has decided to give the task of building its new stadium to CAA Icon and the club is interested in building its home digs in the La Maura area in Milan, Italy.

‘Calcio Finanza’ stated that the top-flight club will be assisted by the globally leading sports management consultancy company to build its new home venue where it will host its future matches.

Earlier, reports suggested that both the Serie A clubs Inter Milan and A.C. Milan will build their own respective stadium in two different areas.

The A.C. Milan is a professional football club in Milan, Italy, founded in 1899. The club has spent its entire history, with the exception of the 1980-1981 and 1982-1983 seasons, in the top flight of Italian football, known as Serie A since 1929-1930.

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, commonly known as the San Siro, is a football stadium in the San Siro district of Milan, Italy, which is the home of Serie A clubs A.C. Milan and Inter Milan. It has a seating capacity of 80,018, making it one of the largest stadiums in Europe, and the largest in Italy.

A division of CAA Sports, CAA Icon is the industry-leading owner’s representative and strategic management consulting firm for public/private sports and entertainment facility owners and operations, professional franchises and leagues.

‘Calcio Finanza’ further stated that recently A.C. Milan and CAA Icon carried out a survey to get the pulse of fans on the former’s new stadium plans. The survey was also carried out to get an insight into fans’ aspirations as regards the new venue – what kind of facilities they would like the facility to offer.

  • Seasonal stadium attendance;
  • Streamlined communication network;
  • Spiffy parking facilities;
  • Attendance pattern – with family, friends, etc;
  • Comfortable seats;
  • Gourmet food and pick of beverages;
  • More restrooms;
  • Robust Wi-Fi/Internet speed; and
  • Good number of hostesses/stewards in attendance.

The survey also took into account other issues – would fans want the stadium to be a multipurpose facility where events like concerts, national team matches, women’s soccer, American football, other sporting events, conferences, and conventions are held.

The Serie A club and CAA Icon conducted the survey to best determine what exactly fans want in a stadium so that A.C. Milan’s future arena can be tailor-made to the needs of Gen Z fans.

While going ahead with building their own home venue, A.C. Milan will give special emphasis on the Premium Hospitality areas so that a hike in ticket prices for the Premium space is commensurate with the best of breed facilities on offer. However, the overall ticket prices will remain wallet-friendly.
