As anticipation continues to build for the start of the 2025-2026 Premier League seasons the Burnley Football Club recently revealed ambitious plans that will enhance both the matchday atmosphere and fan experience at their abode – the Turf Moor in Burnley, Lancashire, England (UK).

‘burnleyfootballclub.com’ stated that in line with the Board’s ongoing commitment to the Burnley F.C. and following consultation with the Fan Advisory Board a number of carefully considered changes will be made ahead of the club’s return to the top-flight of English football.

London (UK)-based the Premier League is a professional association football league in England and the highest level of the English football league system. Contested by 20 clubs it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL).

Preston (UK)-based the English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales (UK). Founded in 1888 as the Football League it is the oldest football league in the world and was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992 when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. The Football League was rebranded as the English Football League (EFL) starting with the 2016-2017 seasons.

The Burnley Football Club is a professional football club based in Burnley, Lancashire, England (UK). The team competes in the Premier League, the top tier of the English football league system.

The 21,944-capacity Turf Moor is an association football stadium in Burnley, Lancashire, England (UK) which has been the home of the Burnley Football Club since 1883.

The Burnley F.C. Fan Advisory Board is a consultative panel of supporters who will work alongside the club with the primary purpose of engaging in conversations, exchanging information, or ideas and securing feedback from the fan’s perspective.

Commented Alan Pace, Chairman, Burnley F.C., “We’re all counting down the days to the start of the Premier League season and these enhancements to the Turf Moor make our return even more eagerly anticipated. The stadium improvements have been high on the agenda for the Board for some time but our promotion to the Premier League has allowed us to accelerate these plans. We’re excited about the transformations evolving over the coming months – and grateful to ‘The Clarets’ fans for their support on this exciting journey. The positivity from the Fan Advisory Board was great to see and these changes are going to help to take the experience at Turf Moor to the next level.”

‘burnleyfootballclub.com’ further stated that the first phase of the rollout, which is subject to an ongoing planning approval process, will be in place for the opening Premier League home fixture of the campaign against their peer team – the Sunderland A.F.C. – and is being delivered early to minimize disruption once the season is underway.

Designed to create a vibrant, fan-first space that enhances the atmosphere, improves the flow and brings the supporters even closer to the action than ever before the following changes will be rolled out for the visit of the Mackems (Sunderland A.F.C. fans) on August 23rd:

  • An all-new team arrival route down the Harry Potts Way, entering the North-East car park and heading to the new players arrivals area in the North-East corner, creating a headline matchday event and building stronger links between the fans and the players;
  • Relocation of the tunnel area (from the North-West corner to the South-West corner), enhancing the players’ matchday walkout experience;
  • Creating a more impactful walkout experience and building stronger links between the fans and the players by switching the home and the away supporters’ areas in the Barnfield Stand; and
  • Changing the matchday flow for the away fans including moving their turnstiles to the North-West corner.

Over the coming months, additional enhancements will be completed creating significantly improved facilities to evolve the overall matchday experience for the fans visiting Turf Moor.

The changes will bring greater value for the fans and create stronger links between ‘The Clarets’ supporters and the players with the aim of creating continued uplift to the matchday experience, the in-stadium atmosphere and the on-pitch performance.

Stated Scott Parker, Burnley F.C. Manager, “The Turf Moor is a fantastic place to be on matchdays. The fans help create an incredible atmosphere, particularly during the run-in to promotion last season and I’m sure these enhancements will only serve to improve things further. We’ll need Turf Moor to be a fortress for us this season – and we’re all excited about seeing the new changes implemented over the coming months.”

The Season Ticket holders in the Barnfield Stand affected by these changes will be contacted directly by the club by August 4th.
