The LaLiga team Real Madrid CF (Spain) have confirmed that they will regain possession of their famous SkyBar following a court-approved settlement.

‘THE Sun’ that the Real Madrid CF said the commercial court handling the Anastasia Gourmet Hosteleria SL’s insolvency proceedings has approved a settlement over the flagship VIP hospitality suite at the top-flight team’s home pitch – the Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain.

The Spanish giants said the agreement was reached between the club and the insolvency administration in relation to the VIP space.

The Real Madrid CF, commonly referred to as Real Madrid, is a Spanish professional association football club based in Madrid, Spain. The club competes in LaLiga, the top tier of Spanish football.

The Bernabéu Stadium is a retractable roof football stadium in Madrid, Spain. With a seating capacity of 83,186 following its extensive renovation completed in late 2024 the stadium has the second-largest seating capacity for a football stadium in Spain, behind the 105,000-capacity Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona. It has been the home stadium of the Real Madrid CF since its completion in 1947.

‘THE Sun’ further stated that the Real added that the deal had the backing of the bankruptcy administration, a majority of the company’s creditors and the court itself.

They ruled the settlement was in the interests of both the insolvency proceedings and the creditors as it resolved the dispute with “economic rationality and legal certainty”.

And they confirmed the settlement will allow the club to repossess the SkyBar.

The agreement brings an end to the legal disputes between the parties.

The 15-time European champions were reportedly being sued for more than £13 million for the suite.

SkyBar

The SkyBar was renovated and reopened in 2023 boasting 700-square-metres of luxury for up to 200 football fans.

It was decked with a restaurant, a huge bar, light emitting diode (LED) ceilings, and walls with a spectacular view of the pitch and two exterior terraces overlooking the Spanish capital.

For the late-stayers there is even a night club.

Tickets

Tickets cost up to £2,500 for a single match meaning that the suite alone could raise £500,000 per home game.

And with around 30 games hosted at the stadium in one season and a possibility to stage up to 20 concerts every year and the opportunity to rent it out the rest of the time it could raise roughly £25m annually.

But the Bernabéu Stadium was forced to suspend concerts until spring 2025 while work was carried out to help the stadium meet anti-noise rules after complaints from the neighbours.

And during the 2024-2025 seasons the SkyBar was still empty and unable to welcome the guests.

That reportedly led to legal action from the company handed the rights to run the VIP space.

The operating company Anastasia Gourmet sued after claiming they had been unable to use the area.

Around £6m of that figure was linked to the suppliers.

Real also stressed they had already won a favorable ruling in a separate case before Madrid’s Court of First Instance No. 50 over possession of the SkyBar.

Concerts

The Real Madrid has published a statement regarding concerts at the Bernabéu Stadium.

“The Real Madrid CF announces that the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Madrid has issued a ruling, notified today (May 13th), which fully upholds the appeals filed by José Ángel Sánchez Periáñez and Real Madrid Estadio S. L., to which the Public Prosecutor’s Office adhered, against the Order of January 15th, 2026, issued by the Investigating Court No. 53 of Madrid in Preliminary Proceedings 2034-2024, which ordered the continuation of the aforementioned proceedings through the abbreviated procedure.”

“The aforementioned judicial resolution clearly and categorically concludes that neither José Ángel Sánchez Periáñez, the club’s General Director and Member of its Board of Directors, nor Real Madrid Estadio S. L. are responsible for any criminal offense in relation to the concerts held at the Bernabéu Stadium. It agrees, as requested by both and with the conformity of the Public

Prosecutor’s Office, to the unconditional dismissal of the proceedings regarding them, thereby definitively ending the criminal process.”

“The Provincial Court also concludes that the responsibility for ensuring compliance with the decibel limits for ambient sound transmission, as stipulated by the Municipal Ordinance on Protection against Acoustic and Thermal Pollution of February 25, 2011, lies with the promoter companies leasing the stadium as they are the ones who promote, organize, develop, and execute each event. It further adds that the mere violation of a general administrative provision for environmental protection does not, in itself, warrant the intervention of criminal law.”

“Real Madrid expresses its satisfaction with this judicial resolution which confirms the absolutely unfounded and instrumental nature of the complaint filed by the Neighborhood Association of Those Affected by the Bernabéu and six other neighbors against José Ángel Sánchez Periáñez and Real Madrid Estadio S. L.

Real Madrid reiterates its full confidence in the administration of justice and will continue to collaborate with the competent authorities in all necessary matters.”

“It is important to note that this doesn’t mean that concerts will be allowed from now on, given that the promoter companies will need to meet the requirements of the law, something that can’t happen if the Bernabéu Stadium doesn’t undergo more renovations.”
