Leaders in the AEC (architect, engineering, construction) community will soon be heading to Kansas City for the upcoming 2024 Coliseum Summit US.

The high-level event will take place from June 5-6 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the NFL Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs.

And the crème de la crème of the AEC community will be on hand to share their insights and expertise in stadium and arena development projects.

Thought leaders from Populous, HOK, HNTB, Gensler, DLR, HDR, Opsis, Generator Studio, Geiger Engineers, ME Engineers, Thornton Tomasetti, JE Dunn Construction, JLL, Shawmut Design & Construction, PCL Construction, Aecom-Hunt, Turner Construction, Ricca Design, Walter P. Moore, Mortenson Construction, Langan, IDOM and Arcadis will all be taking part in the not-to-be-missed spectacular.

‘Coliseum’ is the only global sports venue alliance and over the years it has grown from strength to strength in its own right due to the ingenious and thought-provoking content.

The conference covers different segments of the stadium business – Venue DESIGN, Venue CONSTRUCTION, Venue BUSINESS, HOST CITY Venues, Venue OPERATIONS, Venue HEALTH, SAFETY & SECURITY, Venue VIP, Venue EXPERIENCE, AUDIOVISUAL Solutions & BRAND Development, and Venue DESTINATION.

Kansas City in Missouri, USA, has long been recognised around the world as the home of sports architecture. The moniker dates back to the 1970s when, in a revolution in sports venue design, two major league sports stadiums opened next door to each other in the Midwest city at the Truman Sports Complex.

And the city is once again going into overdrive with a raft of new stadium projects and renovations on the horizon.

Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Kansas City Royals are looking to move away from their Kauffman Stadium home to a new venue nearby, while the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs are planning major upgrades to their Arrowhead Stadium.

Added to this, National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Kansas City Current has just unveiled plans for the next phase of its transformational development on the Missouri Riverfront in downtown Kansas City.

The University of Kansas and Kansas Athletics recently announced the latest plans for the transformational Gateway District, which will feature a reimagined David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas (US), a new conference center and multiuse facilities that will enable year-round use and drive economic development in Lawrence.

These developments will all come under the spotlight at the 2024 Coliseum Summit US when elite members of the sports venue industry gather in Kansas City to wow the audience with their ‘knowledge bank’ presentations.

The ‘cherry on the Coliseum Summit cake’ is, of course, these first-rate speakers – venue past masters from all over the globe who keep the delegates totally engaged and engrossed with their intriguing 15-minute case studies discussing various aspects of the venue business, the core being the challenges faced and the lessons learned while taking up a venue project.

An ice-breaker event including stadium tour will be held at the CPKC Stadium in Kansas City (June 4th). There will also be behind-the-scenes tours of Arrowhead Stadium and Children’s Mercy Park, the home of Major League Soccer’s Sporting Kansas City.
