Barclays Arena new naming rights Image: AEG

Northern Germany’s largest multipurpose arena, currently known as the Barclays Arena, will be renamed the Sparda-Bank Arena effective July 21st, 2027.

‘aegeurope.com’ stated that through this long-term naming rights partnership Sparda-Bank Hamburg and the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) Germany are underscoring their shared commitment to the region and to delivering world-class live entertainment in Northern Germany.

The Barclays Arena is a multipurpose arena in Hamburg, Germany. It opened in 2002 and can hold up to 16,000 people.

The Sparda-Bank Hamburg eG is a major member-focused cooperative bank in Northern Germany headquartered in Hamburg. Founded in 1903, it operates approximately 19 branches across Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Northern Lower Saxony serving roughly 265,000 customers.

Los Angeles (US)-based the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), also known as AEG Worldwide (AEGWW), is a global leader in live sports and entertainment. They bring music, sports and culture together through world-class venues, events, festivals, teams, and entertainment districts around the globe.

Coachella is a massive annual music and arts festival held over two weekends every April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California (US), in the Colorado Desert. It is one of the largest and most famous festivals in the world renowned for its diverse genre lineups, massive immersive art installations and trend-setting fashion.

As part of the partnership the bank’s customers and members can look forward to a range of exclusive benefits including fast track access via a dedicated lane, ticket giveaways and unique experiences in the immediate surroundings of the artistes and the performers.
