During the recent live episode of ‘AEW: Dynamite’ from Long Island, New York, the professional wrestling company AEW head honcho Tony Khan, star Adam Cole (American professional wrestler) and host Nigel McGuinness (professional wrestling commentator) announced that AEW’s highly anticipated United Kingdom debut will take place in London at the iconic Wembley Stadium on August 27th.

‘All Elite Wrestling’ stated that ‘AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium’ marks AEW’s first show outside of North America, and the first time that professional wrestling will take center stage at the Wembley Stadium in more than 30 years.

The All Elite Wrestling is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida (US). It is considered the second largest wrestling promotion in the United States behind the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Founded by the head honcho, General Manager (GM) and Head of Creative Tony Khan in 2019, the AEW is offering an alternative to mainstream wrestling, with a roster of world-class talent that is injecting new spirit, freshness and energy into the industry. In the United States, ‘AEW: Dynamite’ airs every Wednesday from 8-10 p.m. ET on TBS and attracts the youngest wrestling audience on television. The fight-forward show ‘AEW: Rampage’ airs every Friday from 10-11 p.m. ET on TNT. The AEW’s multiplatform content also includes ‘AEW Dark’ and ‘AEW Dark: Elevation’, two weekly professional wrestling YouTube series, ‘Being the Elite’, a weekly behind-the-scenes YouTube series, and ‘AEW Unrestricted’, a weekly podcast series.

Stamford (US)-based the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., doing business as WWE, is an American professional wrestling promotion. A global integrated media and entertainment company, the WWE has also branched out into other fields, including film, American football and various other business ventures.

The Wembley Stadium (branded as Wembley Stadium connected by EE for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Wembley, London. It opened in 2007 on the site of the original Wembley Stadium, which was demolished from 2002 to 2003. The stadium hosts major football matches including home matches of the England national football team and the Football Association (FA) Cup Final. The Wembley Stadium is owned by the governing body of English football, the Football Association (the FA), whose headquarters are in the stadium, through its subsidiary the Wembley National Stadium Limited (WNSL). With 90,000 seats, it is the largest stadium in the United Kingdom and the second-largest stadium in Europe.

‘All Elite Wrestling’ further stated that tickets for ‘AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium’ go on sale to the general public on May 5th at 9 am BST. Effective immediately, fans in the UK can pre-register for early access to event tickets at ticketmaster.co.uk/AEWWembley. Pre-registered access and priority pre-sales will take place prior to the general on-sale date. Beginning May 5th, tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.co.uk/AEWWembley.

Said Tony Khan, “The UK is one of the most important markets in professional wrestling, and the AEW is coming in hot as the number one wrestling company in the United Kingdom on television. We want our debut in London to be epic in scale, and there’s no better venue than the Wembley Stadium to deliver what I know will be one of the greatest events in AEW’s history. This April also marks 100 years of Warner Bros. and 100 years of Wembley Stadium – it’s a fitting time to come together for ‘AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium’.”

The above announcement comes on the heels of AEW’s tremendous growth in TV viewership in the United Kingdom, with the AEW programing serving as the highest ratings driver for men aged 16-34 on ITV4 since the start of 2022. The AEW reached 2.8 million men on ITV platforms in 2022 and began 2023 by increasing that reach by another 45 percent among men aged 16-34.

The ‘AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium’ is far from the Khan Family’s first foray into London or the legendary venue. Shahid Khan is Chairman of Fulham Football Club, which earned promotion to the English Premier League with playoff wins at the Wembley Stadium in both 2018 and 2020.

The elder Khan is also owner of the National Football League (NFL) team Jacksonville Jaguars, who have regularly hosted a home game at the stadium since 2013 and will return once again during the 2023 NFL season for a ninth game at the Wembley.

The ‘AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium’ which will be a homecoming for several top stars including the AEW Women’s World Champion English professional wrestlers Jamie Hayter, Saraya, commentator Nigel McGuinness, the English professional wrestlers Pac, Anthony Ogogo, and more, will be produced in conjunction with Live Nation Entertainment.

Beverly Hills (US)-based the Live Nation Entertainment is the world’s leading live entertainment company comprising global market leaders: Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts and Live Nation Sponsorship.
