ASM Global to acquire majority stake in AV companies Image: Anthony James and Partners

To support increasing demand for strategic technology solutions for the world’s largest venue portfolio, ASM Global (US) has acquired controlling interest in Anthony James Partners (AJP), an industry-leading owner’s representative and audio-visual (AV) consultant that specializes in the design, procurement and implementation of large-scale AV technology and related systems.

The ‘ASM Global’ stated that the move demonstrates recognition that AV technology has become the central nervous system of the live-event experience. AJP’s broad experience and in-depth understanding of the industry will be used to arm ASM Global facility owners and operators with the critical knowledge and input necessary to make fully informed strategic decisions on major investments into complex technology and integration solutions.

Anthony James Partners (AJP) is an AV consultant and owner’s representative that specializes in AV technology systems and solutions for clients that include the top professional sports teams, college campuses and facility managers across North America. AJP services include facility audits, strategic planning, design, financial modeling, procurement, and construction oversight. Technology disciplines include LED displays, broadcast, audio, network, infrastructure cabling, digital address system (DAS)/Wi-Fi, event and specialty show lighting, digital signage, and more.

Founded in 2007, the company is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia (US). AJP’s portfolio includes university stadiums and arenas as well as venues like the 250,000-capacity Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana (US), the 81,441-capacity Lambeau Field in Wisconsin (US), the 16,645-capacity Phoenix Suns US Airways Center in Arizona (US), and many others.

The ‘ASM Global’ further stated that the partnership will bolster ASM’s technological capabilities through the strategic deployment of digital signage networks, LED displays, broadcast production facilities, audio and sports/entertainment lighting, along with core integration and infrastructure requirements for ASM arenas, stadiums and convention centers. The digital out-of-home (DOOH) alliance will also support a broader scope of design, procurement and construction administration services in areas such as entertainment districts, municipal and cultural centers and DOOH media.

AJP recently and currently has provided critical technical/design management services for the National Hockey League (NHL) team Nashville Predators residence – the 20,000-capacity Bridgestone Arena in Nashville (US), the Major League Baseball (MLB) team Chicago White Sox home pitch – the 40,615-capacity Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago (US), the Major League Soccer (MLS) team Philadelphia Union home ground – the 18,500-capacity Subaru Park in Pennsylvania (US), the 18,300-capacity Gila River Arena in Arizona (US), and the 57,236-capacity Ross-Ade Stadium at the Purdue University campus in Indiana (US).

A sample of AJP’s recent major projects for ASM – managed facilities include participation in an $8 million facility upgrade project at the Louisville, Kentucky, KFC Yum! Center, technology upgrades for the sprawling Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale, Arizona (US) and AV design for El Distrito (District Live) in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
