Coventry Building Society Arena has agreed a deal with leading global provider CBRE to enhance its facilities management.

CBS Arena said the leading venue for sport, business and entertainment has agreed a three-year deal with CBRE to oversee facilities management and maintenance services.

CBRE is one of the leading providers of facilities management in the UK and has experience working in complex, multi-use and commercial-led environments.

The 40,500-capacity Coventry Building Society Arena (often shortened as CBS Arena or just simply Coventry Arena, and formerly known as the Ricoh Arena) is a sports and entertainment complex in Coventry, England (UK).

It includes a 32,609-seater stadium which is currently home to the Championship club Coventry City F.C. along with facilities which include a 6,000 square meters (65,000 sq ft) exhibition hall, a hotel and a casino.

The new deal with CBRE will bolster the capabilities at the venue to deliver the best visitor experiences, ensuring the venue’s day-to-day operations run safely, smoothly, efficiently and sustainably.

This will include maintaining the multi-purpose venue, upholding high standards of safety and streamlining processes.

The venue and CBRE will work together to provide a long-term strategy for the venue focusing on delivering operational excellence, business efficiencies and long-term investment within facilities management.

CBS Arena welcomes more than 1.2 million visitors annually and CBRE will work closely with the Arena’s award-winning operations team to deliver its packed programme of sport, entertainment, exhibition, conferences and events.

Paul Michael, Managing Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “It’s vital that we are always thinking ahead and looking at new ways to refine our services at the venue.

“CBRE’s knowledge, expertise and capabilities will help us to raise the bar in our facilities management – which will bring a long-term positive impact for visitors to the venue, whether that is for a concert, football match or business event.

“This is a strategic decision to invest and improve how the venue runs. We have big ambitions for this venue and having a facilities set-up that is forward-thinking and has the capacity for that growth is vital.

“We’re excited to be working with CBRE and look forward to delivering on our ambitious plans over the next three years.”

Simon Doughty, Business Unit Director – Logistics, CBRE GWS, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Coventry Building Society Arena and to play a part in bringing their award-winning programme of events to life.

Coventry Building Society Arena is a like-minded partner who shares our commitment to operational excellence and innovation, and we’re excited about what we can achieve working together to support their operations.”
