Chelsea FC launches cooperation with illustrator Image: Chelsea FC & Alva Skog

The English professional football club Chelsea F.C. recently launched Chelsea Creates, the club’s new series celebrating London’s most exciting new talent.

Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, London. Founded in 1905, the club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. The club’s home arena is Stamford Bridge.

A statement on the Chelsea F.C. website read, “Chelsea Creates is our chance to celebrate the most exciting new talent in London and ahead of each of the remaining derbies this season, we will leave our mark on and off the pitch.”

The statement further read, “Working with a host of creative talents in art, design and music to celebrate why we are The Pride of London and proud of London too, the series of commissions is our chance to celebrate what we love about football, London and creativity.”

chelseafc.com sources stated that to get started on the campaign, the Premier League team have partnered with Alva Skog, an illustrator graduate from London’s Central Saint Martins, one of the most impressive art and design schools in the world.

Alva Skog is an illustrator from Stockholm, Sweden, who expresses and questions ideas and ideals such as inequality and gender identity through their illustration work.

Central Saint Martins is a public tertiary art school in London, England. It is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London. It offers full-time courses at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and a variety of short and summer courses.

chelseafc.com sources further added that one will not miss their distinctive style of bright colors and oversized characters as Alva recently featured in the latest Apple campaign ‘Behind the Mac’ alongside some of the creative geniuses of United Kingdom.

Alva has reimagined Mason Mount (central midfielder for Chelsea F.C.), Tammy Abraham (Chelsea striker), Christian Pulisic (attacking midfielder for Chelsea), Reece James (right-back for Chelsea), and Thomas Tuchel (head coach of Chelsea) across the iconic London skyline and their residence, the 41,837-capacity Stamford Bridge in London.
