Citi Field (US) is offering fans an insider’s look at its ballpark, allowing behind the scenes access to the most exclusive areas in the ballpark.

The 41,922-capacity Citi Field is a baseball park located in Flushing Meadows – Corona Park in New York City (US). Completed in 2009, it is the home field of the New York Mets of the National League East division of Major League Baseball (MLB). The stadium was built as a replacement for the adjacent Shea Stadium, which opened in 1964.

Virtual tour

The ‘MLB’ stated that a virtual tour of the facility is available. In a COVID-19 world, keeping events virtual is the safest bet. Fans can take a behind the scenes look at Citi Field from the comfy confines of their own home. Fans can take a virtual look at the venue’s most exclusive areas.

  • Jackie Robinson Rotunda – an open-air, covered, versatile space which can hold 1,500 people;
  • View of the productions control room;
  • Club spaces;

  • Warning track on field;
  • Dugout visit;

  • Mets Hall of Fame and Museum; and

Tour specifics:

  • The tour is approximately 45 minutes in length, with a short forum for questions at the end. Virtual tours take place on a weekly basis – every Wednesday at 12:00 pm EST and Saturday at 12:00 pm EST. Tours are available on a first come first served basis and space is limited. Following registration, he or she will receive a webinar link emailed to him or her one hour prior to the designated tour time (11:00 am EST on Wednesdays, 11:00 am EST on Saturday);

  • Tour dates, times, locations, and routes are subject to change.

 

Private tours/specialty experiences

Non-gameday private tour

The ‘MLB’ further stated that on days when matches are not played, one can take a private tour and take a behind the scenes glance of Citi Field. These tours can be customized to accommodate groups of any size and age. The group can visit the list of locations given below.
 

Non-gameday group lunch/dinner tour

On non-game days, groups will be given a private tour of the locations listed below. After the tour concludes, the group will choose between the Citi Pavilion in centerfield or the Visitors’ Dugout for an intimate lunch session! Similar to all private tours, he or she can add any of Citi Field’s enhancements to these tour packages.
 

Birthday Tour:

Offered on non-gamedays, year round – enjoy a birthday bash that includes a private tour of Citi Field, visiting the list of locations below. He or she can customize this tour for an unforgettable experience.

Salient points:

  • The tours are wheelchair accessible;
  • Non-gameday public tours will take place rain or shine. On days with inclement weather, or other unsafe conditions, certain outdoor areas may have limited or no access. Gameday tours will also take place rain or shine, with the exception of a rain delay or game that is canceled and set to be rescheduled. In such a situation, the tour will be rescheduled for a different date;
  • All children need to have a ticket for both non-gameday and gameday tours;
  • He or she will be able to take photos of all spots on the tour aside from the Mets Clubhouse. There are no photos allowed during that portion of the tour; and
  • Tours will be held in English only.
