The 12th edition of Coliseum Summit MENA 2024, marking its maiden event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was a pack-a-wallop event. ‘Coliseum’ teamed up with the leading SMC to host the event.

The Coliseum Global Sports Venue Alliance family experienced two highly dynamic and enriching days (February 4th-5th, 2024) which gave a fulfilling experience to everybody who had descended on Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – the delegates, speakers, etc.

It was truly a power program – engaging workshops, insightful tours, a summit, traditional gatherings, networking opportunities, and valuable knowledge exchange sessions.

The Coliseum family is highly grateful to all the local Government stakeholders, sponsors, speakers, and delegates for their valuable contributions which are fuelling the robust growth of the Coliseum stadium and arena network in Saudi Arabia. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements regarding more targeted events.

On February 4th, the workshops were attended by the local Government stakeholders and the international stadium experts. A venue tour was also undertaken for the recently opened ‘palatial’ 26,000-capacity Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which is a sight to behold. And then traditional Saudi Arabian dinner was served and the attendees who had gathered from all over the globe got a taste of the sumptuous Saudi palate.

The main day of the summit – February 5th – saw the cream of the venue industry provide an insightful overview of the relevant sports facilities under design or construction within the Kingdom. Experts also discussed how Saudi Arabia is touching dizzying heights of success in organizing spectacular sports events and have also landed plum sports shows. The country also boasts the pick of chic stadia.

A venue tour of the 25,000-capacity Al-Awwal Park with light show and projection mapping was the cherry on the cake followed by a networking evening in the stadium which saw the delegates interact and get to know the ‘stars’ of the venue industry.

It was a soldout event with 220 participants – the Ministry of Sport, SEVEN, NEOM, Qiddiya, Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Events Investment Fund, Asian Games 2034, Legends, Populous, Portas Consulting, Oak View Group, FIFA, Diriyah Company, Ethara, sbp Schlaich Bergermann Partner, SRJ Sports Investment, PIF, Saudi Motorsport Company, Aramco, Ernst & Young, MACE, SMC, ASM Global, BDP Pattern, Live Nation, Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, New Murabba, Sports Boulevard Foundation, Eden Park New Zealand, AS Roma, Los Angeles FC, UNIMAC, Johan Cruijff Arena, Hill Intl., Al-Nassr FC, Fenwick Iribarren, FC Porto, Legia Warsaw, Thornton Tomasetti, Coca-Cola Arena, LaLiga … and many more!

Nearly, all relevant local Government stakeholders were in attendance for the only global sports venues’ business summit.

‘Coliseum’s’ maiden meet in Saudi Arabia was indeed a roaring success and a rewarding experience for all.
