Companeer change of Management Image: Thomas Albinger & Companeer GmbH

On January 8th, Companeer GmbH celebrated its 10th anniversary. In the last 10 years, the two founders, Jochen ‘Joschi’ Lerche and Thomas Albinger, have turned the Munich-based company into a brand known beyond the borders of Germany.

‘Companeer GmbH’ stated that the start of the new decade began with a change in the team. At the end of 2022, Lerche left the company. He has moved to KVL Bauconsult München GmbH (building consultant in Munich, Germany).

Munich (Germany)-based Companeer GmbH delivers consulting, concepts and project management for venues and events.

Thomas Albinger, Managing Director, Companeer GmbH, Germany, is a Member of Coliseum – Global Sports Venue Alliance. He will be a speaker during Coliseum Summit EUROPE, March 22+23, Twickenham Stadium, London.

Companeer also helps one to get the best out of one’s stadium and arena at any stage by delivering:

  • Out-of-the-box concepts and reliable feasibility studies ahead of planning;
  • Result-driven project management during design, planning and execution;
  • Tough claim management during and after construction phase;
  • Security and mobility concepts during operations;
  • Overlays for exceptional events; and
  • Tools and processes to support one’s operations team.

Companeer’s Munich-based interdisciplinary team provides evidence-based consulting e.g., to the 75,024-capacity Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, and the Bundesliga (Germany) clubs FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

‘Companeer GmbH’ further stated that Thomas Albinger will continue to lead Companeer GmbH and will focus on being even closer to the customer.

Stated Albinger, “Companeer is known for innovative solutions and the will to go the extra mile. This will remain the same. Because the industry is small, we will pay even more attention to services where we are not locally bound and can offer added value outside the Munich area. We will continue to provide traffic and security concepts, as well as bid books and studies to improve venues. We also see growing demand in the areas of sustainability and digitization of venues and events. We will support these efforts. After all, sustainability and digitization will be the deciding factors in the future when it comes to bidding for and hosting major international events. The existence of sustainability concepts will decide on funding for the construction and renovation of arenas and stadiums. In this context, it is not only the life cycle of the building that needs to be considered, but also the entire supply chain and the transport infrastructure. That’s where the main sustainability potential lies.”

Added Albinger, “At the moment, we are also working on references in new sectors. For instance, we are currently creating crowd control plans for the mass transit operator Metrolinx in Toronto (Canada) with the aim of avoiding overcrowding in stations and on platforms. This is going to be particularly interesting in the context of the upcoming games in Toronto for the 2026 FIFA World Cup™. So, Companeer will still be there where many people are moving at the same time.”

The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup™, the quadrennial international men’s soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member-associations of FIFA. The tournament will be jointly hosted by 16 Cities in three North American countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States. It will be held from June 8th, 2026 to July 3rd, 2026.
