Edgbaston unveils new premium option Image: Warwickshire CCC

The Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, England (UK) is preparing to unveil a Skyline rooftop terrace hospitality offering that will transform its matchday experience for guests.

‘Warwickshire County Cricket Club’ stated that Skyline – situated at the height of the South Stand – will offer spectacular panoramic views of the pitch and the Birmingham landscape, whilst delivering an unrivaled hospitality package.

The 25,000-capacity Edgbaston Cricket Ground, also known as the County Ground or Edgbaston Stadium, is a cricket ground in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham, England (UK). It is home to the Warwickshire County Cricket Club and its T20 team Birmingham Bears.

The Warwickshire County Cricket Club is one of 18 first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Warwickshire. Its T20 team is called the Birmingham Bears.

‘Warwickshire County Cricket Club’ further stated that the major refurbishment includes high-end hospitality and banqueting, private inclusive bar, reception areas, live music and DJ, plus superior seating in a partially-covered, contemporary rooftop setting.

Edgbaston is working on Skyline in partnership with Stadia by GL Events (construction company in Castle Donington, England), Arcadis (engineering company) and Woo Architects (London-based architectural design practice), who devised concepts for areas at the 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium in Wembley, London, the 82,000-capacity Twickenham Stadium in Twickenham, England, and the 66,000-capacity London Stadium in London, England.

The Skyline is set for completion in the coming weeks with packages now on sale for a host of Major Match days in 2023, including the Men’s Ashes Test, Men’s IT20 against New Zealand and the Vitality Blast Finals Day.

Craig Flindall, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium said the Skyline is set to be one of the most unique spaces in the world to enjoy a cricket match.

He added, “The Skyline will be a stunning viewing deck, offering an unrivaled spectator experience that will be the envy of cricket enthusiasts around the world. It’s a contemporary, vibrant space that transforms the existing seating area to a stunning high-spec fit-out, offering a first-rate experience for spectators. The development is part of our wider masterplan to further invest in our facilities at Edgbaston and create more multipurpose, versatile spaces. The Skyline does that by giving us the opportunity to not only introduce a new hospitality facility but expand our conference and events capabilities to host more Summer parties and outdoor events. The environment will be relaxed and informal, where there are not only exceptional pitch views but where the food is plentiful, and the atmosphere fun and lively.”

Hospitality packages for Skyline are available to book now via Edgbaston’s Official Hospitality Provider, Keith Prowse.

Birmingham (UK)-based Keith Prowse is the official hospitality provider for once in a lifetime experiences at iconic venues and stadiums across United Kingdom.

Noted Nick Darke, Edgbaston Hospitality Sales Manager from Keith Prowse, “The Skyline creates a modern hospitality experience and adds a new dimension to the already-exceptional packages available at Edgbaston. It’s the ideal space for corporate entertaining or the perfect day out for family and friends. The Skyline offers a more free-flowing environment with informal seating areas and the flexibility to experience cricket hospitality in a way guests may not have done so previously and I’m excited to welcome them.”
