Emirates Airlines becoming new partner of Wimbledon Image: Emirates Airlines and AELTC

Emirates score its fourth ‘Grand Slam’ as the airline announces a multiyear partnership with one of the most prestigious tennis events in the world – The Championships, Wimbledon (UK).

‘emirates.com’ stated that as the Official Airline Partner of The Championships, Wimbledon – Emirates will take the world of tennis to new heights with exciting activations onground. The Championships is set to take place from July 1st-14th, 2024 at The All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Emirates are one of the two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Based in Garhoud, Dubai, the airline is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, which is owned by the Government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.

The Championships, Wimbledon (UK) is the oldest of the four tennis Grand Slams and the only one played on grass. Managed by The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and staged on the AELTC Grounds. Wimbledon has evolved from its origins as a private members’ croquet club in 1868 to one of the world’s biggest annual sporting events and one of the well-respected brands in sport.

Wimbledon (UK)-based the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), also known as the All England Club, based at Church Road, Wimbledon, London, England (UK), is a private members’ club. It is best known as the venue for the Wimbledon Championships, the only Grand Slam tennis event still held on grass.

‘emirates.com’ further stated that the airline is now a partner of the four Grand Slam tournaments – the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

Official Airline Partner of Wimbledon

Through the partnership, Emirates will enjoy a wide range of benefits including: On-court branding in the Centre Court and No.1 Court, onsite activations to engage with the tennis fans, marketing, digital, and social media rights, hospitality tickets, and an opportunity for the airline to join the popular ‘Wimbleworld’ on the metaverse platform Roblox with Emirates’ branded tennis courts and obstacle courses.
 

Championing ‘Force for Good’ Initiatives

Emirates and Wimbledon will also join forces to support social impact initiatives across the United Kingdom. Under the partnership, a multimillion pound ‘Force for Good’ fund will be created to support and promote initiatives that positively impact the society and support the local communities. Further details on this fund will be announced during 2024.

The airline’s sponsorship portfolio also includes other top global sports such as golf, horse racing and sailing. In the United Kingdom, the airline is a proud sponsor of the Premier League team Arsenal F.C., the Emirates FA Cup and the Lancashire Cricket Club and the 50,000-capacity Emirates Old Trafford.
