Professional football is coming to Oklahoma City (Oklahoma, US) as the United Football League (UFL) will launch a new team in 2028.

‘msn.com’ stated that the Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt announced that Oklahoma City will be the home of a United Football League (UFL) team starting in 2028. The team will play in the new MAPS 4 (a debt-free public improvement program) multipurpose stadium that will hold 10,000 fans.

Construction is slated to begin this spring and the multipurpose stadium is scheduled to open in 2028.

Arlington (US)-based the United Football League (UFL) is a professional American football spring league in the United States. It started play in March 2024. It comprises eight teams.

Holt said in a Facebook post, “We welcome the United Football League (UFL) to OKC! Play is slated to begin in 2028 at our new stadium.”

‘msn.com’ further stated that details about the team, such as the name and logo, are unknown.

Maintained Mike Repole, UFL Co-Owner, “Oklahoma lives and breathes football. So, bringing the UFL to Oklahoma City was an easy decision. This is a State that shows up, cares deeply and truly understand the game. From college powerhouses to Friday night lights, football runs deep here. We’re committed to building a franchise in OKC that the entire State can rally behind.”
