GL events will operate Stade de France Image: Coliseum GSVA

The GL Events, Chaired by Olivier Ginon, will be the operator of the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (France) for the next 30 years.

‘GL events’ stated that recently the French State initialed the concession contract for the “exploitation and modernization” of the Saint-Denis compound by the GL Events. The GL Events will be handed over the reins of the Stade de France from August 5th.

France-based the GL Events is a world-class provider of integrated solutions and services for events operating across the three main market segments: Conventions, conferences, congresses, cultural, sports, political events, and trade shows.

The GL Events Venues manages a network of 60 venues (convention and exhibition centers, concert halls and multipurpose facilities) in France as well as in international destinations.

The Stade de France is the national stadium of France located just North of Paris in the commune of Saint-Denis. Its seating capacity of 80,698 makes it the largest stadium in France.

‘GL events’ further stated that the GL Events would like to thank the Government for reposing confidence in the entity. The GL Events will do its utmost to ensure that the transition is a smooth affair so that the shows scheduled for August and beyond can be held hitch-free.

All the stakeholders involved can count on the full resources and expertise of the GL Events to establish the Stade de France as one of the most successful venues vibrating with events the whole year round.

Earlier, the Vinci-Bouygues who presently runs the show of the Stade de France (and will do so till August 4th) decided to take the State to court over its decision to award the contract to GL Events citing irregularities in the tender process.

The Vinci and Bouygues are two separate, large French companies. Vinci is a global leader in concessions, energy services and construction. Bouygues is also a major French conglomerate with a strong presence in construction, telecommunications, media, and other sectors. While they are competitors in some areas they also collaborate on projects.
